stromal tumor removal

When my tumor was removed, I lost 90% of my stomach. My weight has gone down to 100 from 175 lbs. I have been told to eat small meals 6 to 7 times a day. I am unable to do this as I get full fast and nasueated and sometimes throw up. I feel full for hours so I can't eat several meals during the day. I am still losing about 1 to 2 lbs a week. I need to be gaining weight. HAS anyone out there gone through this and how did you turn it around? Any advice is sincerely appreciated. I just joined this site today and am trying to learn my way around. oregon 64

I'm just a visitor to this thread from head & neck. My Mother had a small stomach cancer (found early) removed last week. She is still in the hospital and not eating yet. Personally, I had cancer in my jaw, had surgery, chemo, rads and pleased to say a clean PET scan just a week ago. I lost 50 pounds. Like you, still losing about a pound a week. I make it a point to have at least one or two Ensures every day. Sometimes you just have to make an extra effort even when you don't feel up to it. Most importantly, discuss what is going on with your doctor.
