Cytoxen put me in the hospital
I got the infusion on Thursday and they sent me home on an IV pump because this type of chemo can cause you to urinate blood if it sits in your bladder. So I felt naseaous Friday but not too horrible until Friday night when I started throwing up. I threw up probably about 5 times that night and went to bed thinking I would wake up feeling better. Man was I wrong. I could't hold a sip of water down long enough to swallow it. I laid in bed all day knowing I should get up and go to the hospital but I was being stubborn and trying to ride it out.
When it got to the point where I couldn't roll over with out puking and when I stood up I felt like I was going to pass out I knew I needed to go to the hospital. Between all the traffic and construction It took over an hour to get here and I puked the whole way. By the time I got here I was in tears. They were giving me phenergan, ativan, zofran, and dilaudid and I was still waking up constantly puking. This was saturday night. They have decided to keep me here because they just started the highdose nupegen shots again(which also put me in the hospital) So it looks like Im going to be in here for quite a while.

Hi Felicia,
I am so sorry.
Hi Felicia,
I am so sorry. I know when I have my severe vomiting they have given me Emend. It has been the only thing that has helped. Are they saying the Cytoxen did this? I hope they check your blood work and the drug is doing what it is supposed to so at least there is some benefit after the nasty side effect. Most of my friends who have gone through Stem Cell replacement have been taken to City of Hope and they watch you like a hawk. Unfortunately it sounds like the hospital is where you need to be right now. I hope everything turns around for you today and your team of Dr's can get this under control. You have had your fair share and more. Sending positive thoughts and energy to help you in your recovery!

I hope you get better soon
No one likes the hospital but they can help you recover soon. You really are going thru a rough time hopefully it will pass soon. Hang in there because I have read on this board of women who had it rough like you and then remission which lasted for years. Hope is a wonderful thing to help us get thru the rough times.

I agree with you guys as much as I hate being in the hospital I know its the best place for me right now. Its funny how well I have come to know my body. Yesterday morning when my nurse woke me up for labs I told her that I could tell I was anemic and sure enough an hour later she came back and told me I needed blood. This morning I felt anemic again and was woken up by my nurse telling me I needed blood again. Thats not good, 2 transfusions in 2 days...And Im severely nutropenic and my platelets r dropping very fast. Im sure Ill need platelets and more blood tomorrow. What sucks about being nutropenic is I am a vegetarian and my favorite foods are raw fruits and veggies and yogurt and I cant have any of it.0 -

I hate that you are suffering. I wish I had a magic wand to make everything better. Since I don't have that magic wand, I'm sending you lots of hugs and prayers that you feel better really soon.
