On Sunday morning, October 28th, our minister and I are leading a worship service to honor all cancer survivors, and I wanted to invite any of you who happen to be in the San Fernando Valley area.
Our minister (whose sister is a breast cancer survivor), our ministerial intern (whose father-in-law is undergoing treatment for liver cancer) and I will all be speaking, and we’ll also have a time in the service where everyone will be invited to tie a lavender ribbon on a tree to honor a loved one (or themselves) who’s been touched by cancer.
We’re very intentionally holding this service in October, when breast cancer gets all the attention, to try to make the month a little more inclusive for everyone whose life has been touched by cancer, and to talk about how this month feels to survivors of other forms of cancer.
If you’re in the San Fernando Valley area, and would like more information and directions, or would like to take a look at our church’s website, please send me a private message. Visitors are always welcome at our church.

Thanks for sharing this info, Traci
A lovely and oh-so-meaningful idea! And I'm glad other types of cancer survivors will also be included in the service.
Kind regards, Susan0
