Wonderful news on your CT
Wonderful news on your CT scan! I am so happy for you. I am sorry Folfox is knocking you down again. I just finished #5 today... I slept for a couple of hours this afternoon and am now feeling the mouth issues. It isn't much fun...really puts a damper on the appetite.

sitting in the Radiology Waiting Area
I'm actually sitting in the waiting room, waiting for a CT Scan. I had a PET Scan this morning and CT Scan is scheduled for 4pm. This is the first scans I've had since surgery and 7 treatments of FulFox.
I'll get the results on Wednesday. I hope I get similar results as you.
However, my CEA is running about 8.5. The oncologist said that this happens with some people receiving Chemo. He said the rise could be caused by the chemo and not by tumor activity. I hope he is right.0 -

It's so nice to tell everyone here that understands. I still have 6 more Folfox treatments. Then another scan in December, something to look forward to, lol.
Phil - Good luck on your results. When will you get them. I think the waiting is so stressful. I called onc office 4 times on Thursday, they know I'm a nurse and has worked with onc at hospital and know I have to have results and copy of it.

We saw the doctor yesterday as a follow-up for the PET and CT Scans done on 10/1. The scans show a small nodule (4mm) in the lower right lung. This nodule is too small to determine if it is cancer or not. It could be that the nodule is related to congestion / inflamation or it may be another solitary tumor. The tumor that was surgically removed on 6/1/2012 was also in the lower right lung. That nodule was 14mm when it was first detected and 18mm when it was removed.Momof2plusteentwins said:Thanks Everyone

The prognosis for this nodule is to watch it closely — I will receive another CT scan in six weeks. If that CT scan shows growth in the nodule the recommendation will be another lung resection surgery to remove the nodule and determine if it is cancer or not. If it is from congestion / inflamation it will likely not be present in another six weeks. If the nodule turns out to be cancer I will stop the FolFox chemo treatments and a new treatment plan will be developed.0 -

Folfox
Keep a close eye on your treatments of Folfox.I did the 12 too but after the 7th I developed warning signs of liver damage caused my the chemo. I should have stopped but I listened to my ONC when 12 ended I was NED but had chemo-induced cirrhosis. So keep a eye out especially for swelling; ascites (fluid); and pain in the abdomen. If your Onc won't pay attention find other doctors who will give it a look.Best of Luck Lou0 -
Great news. The clean scan
