Another goal accomplished......Asian Buffet!!

I finally got there last night for dinner....oh man, what alot of food to choose from!! I took a spoonful of almost everything...I skipped what I knew would be hot, but that left probably 35 dishes to choose from, and I took half that on the first round, and went back and got the rest on my second round :). Lo Mein was wonderful, as was the Seseame chicken....yes I was able to eat a little meat for the first time in months. I came home stuffed and happy.

Now what should I go for?? :) I have become an eating machine. I can dunk fat pieces of French Bread into my soups...and oh, I sure like that. I've also become an icecream monster....3, 1/2 gallons in the last 5 days....I can only taste the first 5 bites, but keep on eating it anyway...the texture is wonderful. I should have that 5 pounds on in no time, and then say goodbye to this pain in the a** tube.

Great! Made me remember my own successes at the returning-to-eating game. I can still feel how happy I was to eat cheesy eggs at Waffle House. After that, Golden Corral buffet was a renewed joy for me.

What flavors of ice cream? I did the same - for a while, it was like the first three or four bites I could taste (except chocolate ice cream).

I see a pizza buffet in your not-too-distant future. Wonderful.

Oh Pam....I do love talking about food....
Dreyers had a sale, so I did carmel swirl first....very good, and easy to eat....then did the Butter Pecan. Nuts and I don't get along very well yet, but that didn't stop me, I ate the whole thing and decided to not get more of that. Then I did some Blue Bunny carrot cake, with cream cheese frosting mixed in...if I waited for the carrot cake chunks to melt in my mouth a little, it was very good too....very flavorful. I'm now holding off on the icecream, it's a dangerous habit to start....I've quit eating icecream at least 300 times in my life.

    So Happy for you
I have not done a buffet yet but I think I should. It sounds good. I am glad that you are eating and hopefully gaining weight. I haven't done well with ice cream yet, just get no taste out of it. Let me know what you try next, I love getting new ideas to try.

    Good for you
P51, Diane and I just got home from eating at a Chinese buffet, I assume very close foods served. But I learned that a buffet is the way to go, I likely ate more in one setting than I have since being able to eat and somewhat taste again. So glad your shoveling it in so you can get the tube out of you and in the trash. Im still working on increasing what I eat but plan on Googling for more buffets in our area. Keep it up girl.

I like that comment about quiting ice cream at least 300 times. Every night, now, before hitting the sack I have a bowl of double-peach ice cream. The soothing cold of ice cream still does a Positive number on me.

The MacDonalds right across the street from where I work is guilty of making me an addict of their Southwest salad w/extra dressing. Tried it? Have found over the past couple months that it does seem to burn my tongue more than it used to. Not sure if that's a head-up, or richly deserving punishment for my being a salad freak.

Got my 6-month CT on the 9th at 2PM, Phrannie (3 1/2-year scanxiety?).

    Where you been Kent?
I've missed you :)! Ooooo...I can hardly wait to do salads. I tried one last week, and just couldn't do the dressing, but that just means there's something still out there that I'm craving, and will get to try again.

Will be tucking you into my pocket for the 9th....3 1/2 years!! You are so good at inspiring hope into folks...and wiping out the fear. I don't know what I would have done without you when I first got here...you filled me with confidence that I can beat this thing...and I still have it.

    Congratulations, Phrannie!
It feels great to get back to some normal things, doesn't it? I didn't have much of a sweet tooth before treatments, but now pancakes, donuts and pie taste great. I haven't been able to eat chicken yet, but I recommend meatloaf. Mmmmm. :-)

    make a date with Stacey
Phrannie: you and Stacey need to make a trip to Golden Corral as someone else mentioned above. You really will be surprised on what you can eat...they have so many choices of soft easy to eat things like potatoes, meat loaf, puddings, even a bean salad which worked for me (protein !!)

And ice cream helps cure lots of things, so that tube will be yanked out shortly I'm sure.
    GOOD LUCK.

Ingrid...we'd have to leave the state of Montana
to get to a Golden Corral...LOL. Not too much in the way of buffets around here...The Mongolian Grill tho, might be good.

I already polished off the Pecan Praline icecream I bought yesterday...I can't believe I ate the whole thing...but I did. Now, I swear I'm not going to buy anymore icecream for 3 days....and I mean it. :) The amazing part is I only could taste a total of 15 bites out of the whole carton, and I STILL ate it.

    Food Free For All l!!!
That is how good just starting to eat was.
When you think about it, probably the last time so many foods were, essentially "new again" to me was when I was a baby and I can't remember that.
Fortunately, (although it feels sort of unfortunate) I am back to watching my weight.
And since the needed foodbricants (butter, gravy etc) are so calorie laden, it seems like I can hardly eat much without being bigger than I want to be.*
From where I was, it is a good problems to have, but I miss the eating.
There is a golden corral in Great Falls (about 3 hrs away) but I think the Asian buffet is better, more noodles, more sauces and more slidey food (my new favorite food group) in general.
    Congratulations!!

*exercising would help. I know words with friends doesn't count.
