Right ther with you
Every twinge in the lower back or female area or ache in the leg or pinch in the chest I pause and think in the cancer has returned. I do not say anything to my family cause they cannot understand. They try but if I say anything they say that the cancer has not returned because the last scan was clear and the ca was low. trisha0 -

Thank God we can say whatever we need to to each other and know we will be understood. So far my only ache has been my left knee which I know is arthritis ( due to an old cross country ski injury) that always acts up when it's chill and damp. I did have a renal ultrasound last week to check out cysts on my kidneys that showed up on the ct scan. Of course I got on the Internet and learned about simple vs complex cysts. I want the simple ones!0 -

I want one -- no matter the cost! Every single ache or pain MUST be Chester back to haunt me. My life has been upside down for almost 2 years now. BUT I am still here 2 years later and other than feeling like I am about to turn 50 - I am fine. There is ALOT to be thankful for... but yes, that buzzer would be a best seller!0 -
One of these days one will
One of these days one will be invented...and I'm using all of you as wittnesses that I thought of it first! I could send my son to college without the help of Visa or Mastercard! I get antsy before I have to go back to Houston and this time the ants are chewing on my nerves early! Geezes, I don't go back til Nov.21!!! Debrajo0 -

Yep - I want a buzzer too! That antsy feeling (new word to me in the UK - I love it!) is just how I'm feeling. 3 months into hormone therapy, feeling great, no pain but have to wait until 6th Nov for scan and 14th Nov for appt with onco to find out if hormones are woking. Antsy - and some......!!!

Here's another great discriptive phrase for you Helen : Hebbie-jebbies...the goose bump feeling inside of you while you're waiting for the lab results and you can hear the dr. and staff in the hall talking and laughing!! Our lives are lived in minutes! Know you will do fine in Nov. Best, Debrajo0 -

I love the idea. I remember having been NED for a year and asking the local therapy group I attend, how do you lovely ladies get thru the jitters every time having to wait for test or scan results? Told me, keep busy and try to not think about it...as it doesn't get much better, just have to get used to it. Darn...hoping it would pass as we progress past the initial diagnosis.
One thing my oncologist told me if I have pain and it's continual in one area for a while, get in to see him. Now it's the pain is here and there and not constant in one place, shouldn't worry. Now when I feel pain, I remind myself of the docs suggestion. Seems to help "a bit"!!!
WAIT is a 4-letter word!!!!!!!!!

This is a milestone and should be celebrated. You also get to join the Red Hat society for ladies. They have an official web site = Welcome to the place where there is fun after fifty (and before) for women of all walks of life. We believe silliness is the comedy relief of life and, since we are all in it together, we might as well join red-gloved hands and go for the gusto together. Underneath the frivolity, we share a bond of affection, forged by common life experiences and a genuine enthusiasm for wherever life takes us next. http://www.redhatsociety.com

I remember more of the 70's as I was a in my teens then and would run around with my older sister doing all the things I should not have been doing. There for the grace of God we never got caught. Sometimes I think it is a miracle that we survived that time period. When I turned 50 my best friend (since we were 13) made me a scrapbook with red hats on it. It was great. So celebrate in still and go buy yourselve a red hat with purple ribbon on it. There is a poem that started it...When I am an old women I will dress in purple and wear a red hat...
I can remember looking for coke bottles to cash in to get money for gas for my sisters car and to pile up the car to go to the drive in. Great times. trisha0 -

I loved the 60's! remember when the gas stations would have 'gas wars" to compete. Gas here got as low as 13c! They would also give away freebies if you filled your tank. My husband I outfitted our first apartment with them! Wiah knew then what know now! Sigh!!! debrajo0
