    Is folfox another form of oxiplatin? I had thinning the 5 fu when i did my first treatment in may I asked the doctor today and he said by the 4th treatment. And the nurse said by 10 to 14 days. I still have it. confused about the folfox. is it the same as oxiplatin/5fu?

    Yes
    Folfox is 5FU, Leucovorin, and Oxaliplatin. Fol = 5FU (Flouracil is the chemical name), F = Leucovorin (Folinic Acid), Ox = Oxaliplatin.

    I started with a thick head of hair, and kept it throughout. Just lost from the eyebrows down.

    except my eyebrows. JoeMetz is right - everybody is different. Remember, if you lose your hair it will grow back - it's a temporary loss. I swear mine grew back thicker! Good luck to you.

    Ever since chemo, my eyelashes have grown very long until it looks more like the eyebrows on a cat. If I don't trim them occasionally they get so long and curly that they get in my eyes.

    i did 12 tx of folfox6 jan thru july 2011. i did not loose any more hair than i did before chemo. now i am on folfiri & i have lost some hair. that is the only body hair i have lost. it has stabilized but it came out in handfulls each day for 2 wks. i did get a wig to wear if i want too when i go out. most people on folfox do not loose enough hair to need a wig. i know for we females hair is important but i look at it that i am trying to save my life & i am thankful i can be treated. so hair lost is just part of the ball game & i love my wig! hang in there!!!

    I have had 5 Folfox
    I have had 5 Folfox treatments...I have lost about half of my hair to thinning. Thankfully I had very thick long hair. I trimmed it up a week ago... Cut of about 8 inches... It looks better shorter with the thinning. My hair is still about an inch below my shoulders so it isn't super short. The shorter cut also has helped slow down the hair loss...it doesn't get as tangled and is easier to brush. Other people don't really notice the thinning until I point it out.

    Hair "thinned"
    Hair started thinning. Finished 12 treatments on Aug 23,2012. It has already started to thicken again.
