    It is still so hot down here, I'd much rather be any place but here. Oh well what can ya do....can't talk the husband into moving so I sit here and melt everyday.

    I am a native New Yorker
    Lived in New York City for 39 years then moved to central New Jersey, 10 years ago. I'm 18 miles from the Jersey shore and 40 miles from my job back up in New York City. I get my cancer care in New Brunswick at New Jersey's only Cancer Institute (at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital and Medical School).

    Just thought I'd add I'm from Florida.... Orlando to be precise.

    Nancy, my twin sister lives in Raleigh. I keep thinking of the changing leaves in Carolina and wishing a trip on the Blue Ridge Pkwy. Just signed up this afternoon. I start Chemo this coming Thursday, 10/4/12.

    My son and his family live just across the bridge from Tacoma in Gig Harbor. Maybe if you have a get together and I happen to be visiting there, I can join in.

    Is that a nickname for your town? I lived in a place called Hooterville (nickname) Still have relatives there. I live in Johnson City TN. That's in east TN near VA and NC borders.

    The same Black Hills. We live about 54 miles from Spearfish. Coming from Alaska, the winter shouldn't be too much of a shock to him. It is quite beautiful - though they are past prime color now the fall colors in Spearfish Canyon are always gorgeous. Lots of outdoor activities but no BIG towns within over 300 miles (Rapid City is the biggest about 50 miles away but only has a population of about 68,500.) Not to forget that he can go to the 'famous/infamous' Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Aug.
