I'm back!
Postop felt rough. Really struggled when took steps back eg needing ng back down, but now feel more confident have made some progress though continues to fluctuate. Urostomy and colostomy working and starting to participate in changes. Adjusting to one leg feels like bigger one but not horrified by what I can see. Been able to get to sitting and standing a couple of times with loads of help but feel positive about physio. Is going to be a very long haul over months in the first instance so just focusing on short term goal eg bit more food, at present.
Family been great and due in to visit today. Kids quite comfortable here (ESP as have a wii in the room for physio) and no major reactions from them at home.
Well that's me exhausted and in need of sleep. Nice to be back and will update myself now -thanks to mags for linking things together till now.

WELCOME BACK!!!!
Steve, it's so wonderful to see you posting!! We are all so glad to see you on the road to recovery.
Kids are resilient bunch aren't they? They tend to be a lot more accepting of changes then we adults are sometimes.
Your lovely wife through Mags has been keeping us informed and please let her know how much we have appreciated it, while we were sitting here on the sidelines cheering for you it was great to get a progress report.
Now go get some more sleep and keep on healing.
Hugs to you,
Winter Marie0 -

Welcome Back Steve, One day at a time has been MY Mantra since I had a life treatening illness when I was 12. It still serves me well.
Everyday a little stronger Steve. I am still in awe of you. The road might be long, but don't forget to smell the roses along the way.
