    After going nuts for 48 hours, jumping at every phone call, and making hubby nervous I wrote to my oncologist and got back a little note:

    "Olga,
    I just finished looking at it with the radiologist - things are healing"
    Hubby and are going to see her tomorrow @2:30 PST. I will post as soon I process results and steps forward.
    Thank you everyone for support and prayers.
    My arm looks like it belongs to a Junkie, I am studying a phlebotomy handbook, hopefully will sleep without Ativan today

    Obtain Results from Medical Records
    Hope it is good news Olga.

    I never wait for information from my doctors on scans, blood test or whatever. I go to medical records of the hospital where the test was done and have the results in my hands 24 hours later. One has to give the radiologist time to dictate his findings and the transcriber to type it up before it is sent on to your doctors and the medical records department.

    All one needs to do is once a year sign a form that you are you and want the results as part of your records. I found that doctor's don't really appreciate how nervous we become waiting for a phone call that doesn't come. I relieves my stress level 100% to pick up my own copy of the results. It prepares me whatever it is in case I need to ask questions. The doctor's time is not wasted with your reaction if the news isn't good. You with the results in hand are ready for the next step.

    I am so good at figuring out good or bad news now by how tick the envelope is. I know the results before opening the envelope in my car. One sheet is good news most of the time, two sheets isn't good news. Depending on the thickness, I know the results.

    Might be something you might consider in the future to avoid stressing yourself and your love ones.

    I understand, Doris, your getting your own records but as you've said you've been doing this for years....I think getting one's own report and no experience in reading them or understanding the medical lingo, one could interpret them either good or bad, causing even more anxiety.....Personally, I prefer to let the experts read and interpret them...I can wait on the results, even though it does cause anxiety.....I'll be down this road on Oct.15 ...scans day and it's a Friday....ugh...but we all get through scanxiety!

    Hello everyone,
    I saw my oncologist and have my results. My report is 3 pages, however my oncologist feels very optimistic. I am staying on Xeloda, which I am taking right now. I will post my update shortly, overall situation is still serious, as much as I have been trying to put a positive spin on it , I am feeling sad and unfair. I know I should be thankful, many have it much worst, but that is how I felt yesterday night and today.
