DPNS did not work

As many of you know after 6 years from the last time of being treated with radiated twice to the head a new side affect develop the lost of being able to swallow anything. Doctor suggested DPNS, well Deep Pharyngeal Nerve Stimulation did not work to restore any movement of the tongue so that I can swallow again.

However I am not giving up I learned about another treatment called Laser Nerve Stimulation; I started it last week and so far did two treatments. Last night while brushing my teeth I notices some funny feeling in my very last tooth and for the life of me could not figure what it was; that is just it "feeling". I was feeling the back tooth in my mouth for the first time in two years, I don’t know if it was because of the Laser Nerve Stimulation or not, but it is something I am going to keep doing and see if it gets better. I will keep you posted on the treatment.

Take care
Hondo

Bet you forgot about me but I been watching you.
    Hondo,

I am not sure you recall me but I started treatment for stage 4 which was about the same as your the first part of 06. I live in Branson, Mo. area if that will help refresh your memory. Anyway, myself never have gotten where I could really eat all that good. I recall at the onset you mention at the time you were having an issue with the jaw being frozen. I was telling the nurse after my treatment of your situation. She said "yes you must start right now exercising the jaw to prevent it from freezing up". I no today that would also have been me with same problem. You sure have my sympathy, and prayers. That laser nerve stimulation is a new one to me. Keep us posted on the outcome for if it helps I may also give it a try. I thank modern medical techology for keeping us both alive this long but I am sure you will agree it has not been an easy battle. I am sorry I haven't gotten back with you before but also went through a divorce after twenty two years of marriage. I just hope this treatment really helps. Roger

    Thanks Everyone

I go this week for three more laser treatments; will up-date you all on Friday if any more feeling comes back. As you can see I am very excited because finally something seams to be working. I am not trying to put too much hope in the Laser Nerve Stimulation because I know my damage is very bad on the left side of the face, but at this point any feeling I get except for pain I will take it.

God blessing on all of you

    Hi Roger

Yes I remember you well my friend, it’s been quite a while, I am glad to see you are still here with us and hope you are still C free. I am sorry to hear about the divorce, sometimes there are no words to say, but I am glad you pulled through it and doing well.

    Take care and keep posting
