Then I told her about steved's surgery and it really made both of us choke up at how caring he is to wish Rick well given he has his own surgery to get through.

Anyway, enough tears for one day... I am glad to report that Rick is doing better than expected ,although he is still in pain and a fever from infection. My prayers will have been answered if be can go home pain free for a little while. Thank you all for the continued good vibes and prayers, they appear to be working!

Update

Hello dear friends! Would you believe that Rick was actually up and walking a few steps and sitting up in a chair today?! He has significant pain of course, but he's looking better, not ghostly white anymore. I was afraid of what the "doom and gloom" doctor, as I refer to him now, was going to tell us tonight, but he came in smiling and joked with Rick. He then told us that PT was going to get him up and walking so that he can come HOME next week! :-). I was almost giddy at that one. :-). I could barely believe my ears, but the head nurse started talking about sending visiting nurses to the house,etc., and I haven't stopped smiling since. This has been my goaljuno just get him home, and it looks like all of your prayers and good vibes are going to help to make that happen!
