Surgery tomorrow

I'm happy for you
I would gladly trade a week of insanity for the opportunity for surgery with the Davinci robot. I remember reading your post last week and how awful that anxiety was for you. This is relatively recent and new technology and those surgeons trained on it are few and far between but they are really good at what they do. AT one of my SPHONC meetings we had a trained davinci surgeon as a guest speaker and he showed us a play by play of the actual procedure. It's incredible and effective. So glad he is getting this treatment.0 -

A Prayer before surgery.
Almighty God,
You know my inmost being,
the secrets of my body and soul.
Fill my heart with trust,
even as I fear,
and bless the surgeons and nurses
and all who work to help and care.
Be near, gently sustaining me,
and supporting them in their skills.
Amen.
God bless

Vivian, my prayers are with you! I know everything will be just fine! Doctors know what they're doing and they will do the best they can! Surgery is the first step to defeat this beast!

Another Day and
the surgery will be history. Remember to take care of yourself. I think the caregiver suffers more than the patient. After all, the hospital staff will care for David; but you must take care of yourself. (I should have said this to my wife last November.) Rick.0 -

Thanks everyone for your encouragement, prayers and support. We will be at the hospital in an hour. As much as I wish all this were just a dream, I am glad things are starting to move. I am so tired of seeing my husband in pain and looking so distressed. I know we have several more months of this, but at least things are happening now. I will update a little later today while I'm at the hospital. What else am I going to do right?0 -

Hopes and dreams.....
I'm really looking forward to hearing word on success and positive future.
best,

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. David's two hour surgery turned in to four. The doctor thinks he got all of the primary tumor. David's throat swelled a lot so they are leaving him intubated and in ICU for a while. I haven't seen him since 7:45 thus morning and I am ready to see him. The doctor said he was going to discuss davids case with the oncology board. He is concerned he may have to go in and do the neck dissection before radiation and chemo.0 -
