First CT results are in....

I was diagnosed in June with Stage 4 mCRC (had to have colostomy done as well) and started chemo (FOLFOX + Avastin) in July. Due to a bile duct blockage, my first chemo tx was only 50% of normal and with no Avastin. Second tx was 80% with Avastin, and have since had 3 full tx with Avastin. Had the CT scans done Monday, and results were very encouraging. No new tumors, all pulmonary masses were stable, all hepatic, lymph, peritoneal, and colon tumors showed reduction in size, with some up to 50% smaller. My oncologist called it a "tremendous" response in such a short time. VERY happy family and friends right now, and hoping the trend continues. Plan is to continue with FOLFOX with possible switch to FOLFIRI if the oxalaplatin side effects become too much (not bad so far).

Great news!
Oxaliplatin is the gift that keeps on givin' - the whole year 'round.
Folfiri is quite a different ride...was much harder for me.
Oxy's effects are legendary...check with the onc about Magnesium Sulfate by IV...if it works for you, then it will help those neuropathy symptoms and the cold sensations in the throat...and make your treatment regime a little more human.
Good luck!0 -
