I just posted a response to a call to "Share what CSN means to me" on a thread started by skiffin16. Look in the head and neck forum under "What CSN means to me" and my post is called "blatant ingratiation". I think you will find it interesting!

The thread is an interesting one. It is coincidental it appears at such a time when the EC Board is upset.
No one is questioning that the CSN-EC Board is a cause for great good. However, it is the discussion group members--not administration--that makes it so beneficial. I encourage the American Cancer Society to continue its support. We need the discussion boards. The American Cancer Society needs our support as well.
I agree. No one should be intolerant and disrespectful of another's feelings. No one should direct derision at another's views. I've never been on the Chat Room. Frankly, I didn't know it even existed until your post referenced it and I looked to the left, and there it is. Real observant, aren't I? My computer doesn't run Java Script so I couldn't get on the Chat room to see. Have to get on another computer.
It is obvious that it benefits no one to be argumentative and abusive to those who are here seeking help. For this reason, there has to be a moderator. There are just some people who like to cause an uproar. I just hope the moderator will be open in decision making, providing advance notice of actions to an individual's email account and making sure that when a member is banned, that they are ready to step in and fill the void.
It seems everyone needs to step back and take a deep breath.0
