Don't Give Up!
I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through this. Don't give up! I had a friend who had a bone marrow transplant at Georgetown Hospital. He had so many complications that it didn't look like he could possibly make it. I've never seen anyone so close to death that pulled out of it. It's been approximately 20 years now and he fulfilled his dream of becoming a Christian psychologist. He is still doing great. I will be holding you in my prayers.0 -
Don't give up
Amy, April is so right. My 44 year old daughter has blood cancer and is still in treatment. Her induction treatment failed and after receiving a new chemo she got a serious sepsis infection. You cannot imagine how terrible this was. The rapid response team was called in and about three Docs told me that it was the end and due to low platelets that she could bleed to death and that I should not resuscitate her. That was two months ago. Do not give up. I hope you find comfort in our messages and try to get more medical help. Please keep in touch.0 -

Thank you April and nempark, I have been on this board since I got diagnosed last year, and finally decided to share. I appreciate your comments and stories, they are keeping me from getting too depressed. I am a fighter and will try and keep myself going. Willpower and the love of my family and friends plus faith will help me through this. I am not a religious person, but spirtual and I will take what ever wisdom you can give me0 -

I agree with everyone who has posted...DO NOT GIVE UP!!! Easy for us to tell you, but you have to pull up your big girl pants and keep the fight. Surround yourself with positive people, read books on mind-over-matter and the power of positive thinking. Whatever it takes to bring yourself up and smile and know you can endure this demon.
Have you considered a consult with a naturopath? This might be an option, as they heal the whole body and give it strength to fight.
Sorry you waited to respond as were behind the scenes, but know we're all here for you. Come back and keep posting and we'll keep pumping you up to continue the fight.
Cancer is not a sentence, it's a word!!!

I really wish there were
I really wish there were some magic words to rid all of us from this scourge of cancer! I do know that TRUE peace of mind will go further to cure than we think. Dr.s are not God and five drugs or types of drugs are just the tip of the ice burg. Just try finding the deep peace and then look at your options again. Please hold on...WE need you to be with us! Best, debrajo0 -

Hold on
The other ladies are right - try to hold on. It must be a huge blow to have gone through 5 chemo's with no effect. It may be time for some additional consultations - a second opinion, or alternative practitioners who may be able to offer you other options.
I wonder whether hormone therapy would be an option for you? There are ladies on this board who are being held stable by such therapy, or in some cases, have returned to NED status against all the odds. I do not know whether your cancer is hormone receptor positive, but if it is (or sometimes even if it isn't), then hormone therapy may be a possible treatment that could help you too?
Do not despair of hospice help - they are there to help you to manage your symptoms. But accepting their help in this respect does not mean that you have given up the fight. You can, at the same time, continue to look for further cancer fighting treatments.
I am fighting my third recurrence of this beast and it is inoperable this time around. I am on hormone therapy but do not yet know if it working (they will scan me at the end of October). But my pain has gone, so I am hopeful!
Wishing you a return to good health

Never Giving Up on Hope
Amy. I feel your pain and frustration because my younger sister, Amy, is also fighting the same devil (Stage4, Grade 3 Endo) in the hospital at this moment as I speak.
There is no magic word to cheer you up but I just want to let you know we shall never give up on hope. Miracles are rare but they do happen. Have you heard/thought of clinical trial? That’s one of the options suggested by my sister’s doctor.
I don’t know what is the best for you but I will be more than happen to provide you additional information on that if you’re interested.0 -

Thank you I am now inpt at hsp for pain management. When I come out I should be in much better circumstances the pain I was having was horrible. I think I will able to really assess the whole situation I can't thank u all four your caring and supportive thoughts0 -

Hospice is a wonderful organization with such caring staff. Are you in Naples, FL area? There is a Vitas there and I live close by. Curious.
All the best to you. Mary Ann0 -
