Nice.
Thats nice John, I'm sure all on the board are down to earth,
genuine, awsome people in 'real' life, its a shame we all couldn't
meet and see one another.
You two look good, hope we all look as good in the years to come.
God bless

central place to meet ?D Lewis said:Nice photo...
I got to enjoy a lovely lunch in Yosemite with Hal61, shortly before he moved into a mini-Winibago and headed out on the road. I say we pick a central location and ALL meet up there.
Deb
Deb,
that is a wonderful idea....I am all in.
I vote for a warm climate....don't want you all coming to Chicago in the winter.. that would just be mean.0 -

I would love to meet everyone in person; we just need a place and a date.

St. George Island - Florida Panhandle...
LOL, I have asked others if it might be doable in the past...
My wife and I rent a house either on the bay or ocean up there nearly every year, last week of October.
I know it's not very Central...but it is really pretty, and though warm to a lot of you, it's actually one of the nicer times of the year for Florida...lower humidity and even some coolness in the breeze.
Anyways, it's Collins Vacation Rentals..., just south of Tallahassee on the barrier islands.
Best,

it would be to meet someone from this board, in person. Is Joe a survivor too?
Joe is definitely a survivor....
He is soccerfreaks her on this board, one that has been kicking around for many more years with this crap than most of us here.
He's a bud, and his wife is truely his caregiver and soul mate....they are a perfect maych.

I am still finding myself amazed by the true support and care you all have for one another. It seems to be a very special bond.0 -
Bonds...
Yes, it is a very special bond....
I am a prior Marine, six years active and ten years Reserve....
Having cancer, going through treatment for both we survivors and care givers is very similar.
It's a bond that unless you have went through it, walked in our shoes, survived what we have...well you just don't quite "Get It"...
Truely something that you have to go through and be a part of to understand...

Grandma, I have a profile and a blog here, along with some photos. As skiffen indicates, I have been around for awhile (since 2006) and for some time was a regular and most frequent contributor to this forum. Over time, it developed that others (skiffin, for one) were dispensing advice quite well and so I have mostly come in to the forum just to make sure that it is well regulated (it is!) and that questions are answered on a timely basis. We do not want people feeling as though they are being ignored, after all, perhaps the only feeling worse than receivng that initial diagnosis.
I truly enjoyed meeting John (skiffen) and look forward to the next opportunity to do so. He is a boon to the head/neck cancer community here, a kind and gentle man who seems to have only the best interests of all at heart, and for that I respect him greatly.
If you ever find yourself in the Virginia Beach area, Grandma, let me know. I'm sure my wife and I would be happy to meet you and yours.
Take care,
Joe0
