Hey-glad to see you here "in person"!Doc_Hawk said:Thanks all
I did a bit better today than yesterday although I'm still pretty weak and tired. I'm getting lovenox injections twice a day and breathing treatments every four hours or as needed. Because she's a service dog, my Lulu is able to stay here with me. Now all I need is my PS3, a few more books and my little fridge full of beer and I'd been happy!
When I take Lu for her walks, nurse has to go with me because I get really winded and tired. After I check out, I'll be on warfarin for at least 6 month, so no green vegetables. I'm REALLY gonna miss my spinach.
I'd like to thank you all for your prayers, thoughts and kind words. They really do help and make a big difference. No matter how craptacular I feel, when I read them I feel much better.
God Bless and Hugs to all!
Ray/Doc
Really hope you break out of the Big House soon, and get back to your PS3. What games do you play? In our family of five, I'm the only non-gamer, but the rest are all gaming maniacs. Hugs~Ann Alexandria0 -

Thanks for the Dutch hugs, Marjan! My ancestry is Danish and I think Viking hugs would be a bit scary.
My preference in books is pretty eclectic. I do have a Kindle app on my phone and currently reading The Seven Pillars of Wisdom by T.E. Lawrence. I'e also got some Japanese literature and history. I don't read much fiction, mostly history and philosophy.
get to feeling better bro!!!!!! i love your advice dude!!!! im thinkin of you!!!0 -
Glad that your companion is with you

Glad to hear you're doing better. I bet the nurse loves being able to walk with you and Lu, I'm sure they love the time to get out too. Do they know what caused the blood clots? My onc. keeps me on lovenox, it's been almost 2 years. I asked him if I could go on oral blood thinners, I get a flat out no.0 -

He's not sure what caused these. It's not like I'm sedentary when I'm at home, taking the dog out, going up and down stairs, cooking and cleaning. So that's not it. I keep meaning to ask him if it could have started in March when I drove down to Arizona. That makes sense to me.
When I go home, he's going to start me on warfarin so I'll have to cut out green vegetables, not like I eat much of them anyway except for spinach and edemame.0 -
pain killersHelen321 said:Hi Doc, Sorry to hear about
Hi Doc, Sorry to hear about your pneumonia. Glad your dog can stay with you. My daughter has a dog that has two back legs that don't work so she's in a wheelchair and everyone let's the dog come in the stores. Dummies, the dog is the one that needs the service! lol My daughter loves it because she takes her everywhere.
I hope they're giving you some pain killers too. Those are just plain good all around. Just don't take them if anyone shows up with that beer=)
A kindle is a great thing and a laptop even better. Lucky you! I'm going to have to bribe someone in my family to lend me theirs, it's a very good idea to bring those along.
My prayers are with you, kick ****! Helen
Hey Helen, good to hear from you. They keep offering me pain killers but I turn it down. I don't like the way it mess up my head and makes it difficult to think. Besides, the pain level is pretty low down in the tolerable range. It's my clogged sinuses that are giving me problems!0 -

I'm not a gamer either. I bought the PS3 for the blu-ray ability and that I can download movies directly to it from Sony. I do have Madden Football that came with it, Dante's Inferno and a couple of flight sims, but never get around to playing them.0 -

Yeah, I'm glad she's here too, otherwise I'd be worrying about her too much to concentrate on getting better. That first night, I kept looking for and then the next day my onc said she could stay. Good thing, too; taking her for walks helps to get my wind built back up. It's pretty stressful on me still, but I an tell it's doing good. No telling how long I'll be in, I'm just gonna roll with it and make sure I don't relapse when I get home.0 -
Glad to see you are posting and hoping that you get to come home soon and wishing you a very speedy recovery. If my doctor told me no more vegetables, you would see big crocodile tears - my veggies are the most favorite part of my foods, eat them lunch and dinner and sometimes just make a meal out of them. Get well soon, we miss you.Doc_Hawk said:clots
