Doc
Sorry to hear that you are in hospital but it is clearly the right place to be for now. I hope the meds clear the pneumonia quickly and you are feel better. Worrying to hear of the blood clots and wonder whether is related to any recent chemo or whether is simply due to being unwell (cancer makes us all a bit more prone to clots in the legs and lungs). I also hope things sre okay with your family as I know you have also been providing care there too. What a bloody mess we find our lives in at times!
My thoughts are with you and hope you get the right treatment to get back up and running as soon as possible.

Doc . . . You seem too
Doc . . . You seem too ornery to let a damn bug keep you down for long. Kick it's ****, and kick cancer's **** while you're at it. Hope you're not too uncomfortable, but i know that's difficult in a hospital. Get home soon! Dan0 -
Hope your feeling betterWenchie said:Doc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been there with the clots and lung mets. I came out just fine. The clotbusters are awesome so sit tight and you'll be home soon. xoxox
Hope your feeling better soon, blood clots suck, been there and on Lovenox for almost 2 years now. The way my oncologist presented the blood thinners to me was comparable to someone with diabetes having to give themselves a shot every day.....not quite but you do what you gotta do. Feel better soon.0 -
Thanks all
I did a bit better today than yesterday although I'm still pretty weak and tired. I'm getting lovenox injections twice a day and breathing treatments every four hours or as needed. Because she's a service dog, my Lulu is able to stay here with me. Now all I need is my PS3, a few more books and my little fridge full of beer and I'd been happy!
When I take Lu for her walks, nurse has to go with me because I get really winded and tired. After I check out, I'll be on warfarin for at least 6 month, so no green vegetables. I'm REALLY gonna miss my spinach.
I'd like to thank you all for your prayers, thoughts and kind words. They really do help and make a big difference. No matter how craptacular I feel, when I read them I feel much better.
God Bless and Hugs to all!

Glad you're feeling better Doc. You need a Kindle, easier to carry than a lot of books.
Prayers for a swift recovery.

Thanks for the Dutch hugs, Marjan! My ancestry is Danish and I think Viking hugs would be a bit scary.
My preference in books is pretty eclectic. I do have a Kindle app on my phone and currently reading The Seven Pillars of Wisdom by T.E. Lawrence. I'e also got some Japanese literature and history. I don't read much fiction, mostly history and philosophy.0 -

Hi Doc, Sorry to hear about your pneumonia. Glad your dog can stay with you. My daughter has a dog that has two back legs that don't work so she's in a wheelchair and everyone let's the dog come in the stores. Dummies, the dog is the one that needs the service! lol My daughter loves it because she takes her everywhere.
I hope they're giving you some pain killers too. Those are just plain good all around. Just don't take them if anyone shows up with that beer=)
A kindle is a great thing and a laptop even better. Lucky you! I'm going to have to bribe someone in my family to lend me theirs, it's a very good idea to bring those along.
My prayers are with you, kick ****! Helen0
