Endometrial polyp
I'm periomenopausal and recently had vaginal ultrasound which radiologist found thickening of endometrium at 29mm and 'mass' with it's own blood flow, 3mm polyp. I see nurse practioneer who did an endometrium biopsy yesterday. They're looking to see if it's endometrium cancer.
My symptoms were excessive bleeding.
Waiting now for results and just looking for some input on other possibilities with this. I'm driving myself crazy looking online.
thanks

Worst part is the waiting
Hi! Suz...the worst part is the waiting. I think you will find this a good place to find information and support. I know I have. I looked online a good bit and it really did make me nervous in the beginning. Not knowing what to expect is so hard. If you like feel free to share your experience here. I know others will probably be along soon to say hello. You are not alone. Norma0 -

thanks so much for reaching out, i've been feeling really alone about this since I don't want to involve my family until i know what's going on. Last thing I need it to deal with them worrying as well (not to mention the unwanted drama). Your kind words helped me feel I'm not alone and I appreciate that.thanks
Hope to hear something by Friday. This is all so confusing, hoping I'll get info that will make some sense.
thanks again.0 -

Easier said than done...the blotting it out part. In the beginning I would just panic everytime I started thinking "what if". What helped me was to take each minute at a time. Not to think too much into the future, but to concentrate on what I was doing at the time and focus on that. Praying for you....let us know what happens.0 -
Welcome and sorry you have to join, but glad you did.
This is a wonderful site with a lot of carrying women that have been where you are now. I was dx in April 2011 with carcinoma sarcoma cancer. Had total hysterectomy with everything removed in April, started 6 rounds every 21 days of carbo/taxol, and no radiation. I am still NED (no evidence of disease). I had changed my eating habits and exercise plus take supplements. In March 2011 I had heavy bleeding and my gyn did a D&C. No sonogram, no pre-testing. So I had no clue that the symptoms, heaving bleeding was going to be a cancer, I did not have to worry the one week for results, just went on living my life till Friday, April 1 (April Fool’s Day) she called and told me I had cancer. So I did not have the worry but I did over that weekend till I met with the GYN ONC Dr on Mon April 4 and had surgery Friday, April 8. It moved real quick for me.
I just told my best friend’s daughter not to worry as she is going through a biopsy for a spot on her uterus, worrying is a stressor and it just builds up. It is hard not to worry but try to remain positive. Having a positive attitude helps a lot. Going through the waiting, testing, more waiting and if it is found to be something, and going through surgery, recovery and chemo treatment and if radiation is needed, if it comes to this. Try to keep a positive attitude and try not to let anything get you down.
The first thing I will say is stay off looking for things on the Internet, most information out there is old and some may not be true. The Internet is sometimes a bad place to self-educate on different health issues. So if you read something on the Internet do not take it as fact, read it, but do not think what is going on with you is the same that went on with the person that posted that story. The only thing you have to remember is every person is different, different circumstances, different blood, different symptoms, every case is different and even treatments are different. What works for one person may not work for the next.
I am sure you are a strong young woman, and will have a strong support team behind you, if you need them there. Do not let this take you down a path of fear, depression, and possible anger. Those are all normal feelings but what does it get you, nothing. Try to keep the positive attitude, if you can. I will even say, if you have a strong faith, God will never give you more than you can handle alone but He is always there to help us through us. Even if it just your support team helping you through it, He is there with them.
I will be adding you to my prayer list and if you do need to talk come to the web site as someone is always ready to help. Do not jump the gun yet and get freaked out, you do not know yet. Until they tell you that it is cancer, try not to worry (easier said than done), I know. Getting upset and worried is not a good thing but even if it comes back that there is cancer, it is TREATABLE. To quote Jan, one of the ladies of this, Cancer is a word, not a sentence. My saying is “And this too shall pass. “ trish0
