Hello everyone! I need some help... my husband lost his mother to lung cancer at the end of July. This has been very difficult on all of us! My husband was very close to his mom! She was the type of person who never judged she tried to make light of every situation and my husband could call her for anything and now she is gone..I need to know what I can do to help my husband through all this. He knows Im there but what can I do just to help him through this. I don't know what to do. And I am worried about him cause he is military and due to leave here soon. And he is the type who bottles things up and I know its better for him to let it out but what do I do? I just worry about him and I am very sad to but my priority right now is his mentality. Any advice would be wonderful Thank you!

active listening
Grieving has stages and it takes many forms.
One of the best ways to help someone through their grief is just by being there, encouraging them to talk and listening when they do.
Helping your husband ways to remember his mother's special gifts can also be helpful. Remember some special passion of hers and do something in her memory - did she love children and reading? Give a children's book in her name to the local library. Love her church? Find something they need and give it in her name. It will be a lasting legacy.
I know this is a difficult time. Hold on to each other during this phase of grief.0
