    Just not right!
    Molly,
My sis did have mets that started to detach her retina. Radiation took care of it. She ended up having to use natural tears eye drops and have plugs put in the drains of the tear ducts because she has chronic dry eye after that. She got to go to San Francisco for treatment because Stanford didn't to any thing above the neck. The imaging was really different.

Hopefully it's all for nothing and your eye doctor is just very thorough!

Oh, Molly, I hope they are just being overly cautious
I must admit, I have never heard of this type of mets. I can't even imagine how you must feel. Let's hope and pray for the best result--no mets.

I will raise you up in prayer and send all my positive energy your way.

    Please let us know.

    Hugs, Renee

Hi sweet sister - I never
Hi sweet sister - I never heard of this either. I actually had to follow up with an eye Dr. (I don't use glasses, but because of Tamoxifen it was recommended that I saw one regularly because it can cause cataracts). So he did further testing and most recently a follow up to check on a spot I had in my eye. He wanted to make sure it didn't get bigger (ugh) - so it turned out to be a freckle which apparently its common.

I hope yours turns out to be b9 - I'll have you in my prayers.

Do you use sunglasses everyday? If not, you should. My dr. said you use dark sunglasses when it;s sunny and light one when its not - during the day.

I know you are nervous but hang in there. We'll lift you up in prayers...

    Sending you a huge hug.

    Eye Metastasis
    Dear MollyZ,

My uveitis specialist mentioned the possibility of eye mets after learning of my recurrence back in 2008. I have seen women mention eye metastasis on forums dealing with mets. It is not uncommon to have cancer go there from what I had read. Radiation is usually what is done to eradicate it.

What made your eye doctor want to do further testing on your eyes?

I hope you don't have this condition.

    Best,

    Doris

    Never knew this was possible
Oh the horrors of BC! I certainly hope this turns out to
be just a false alarm. I found music, good movie or book,
any escape really helps with the jittery nerves.

Why don't you share your fear openly? You shouldn't have
to hide it. Maybe you are trying to shield your husband
but I think right now you need support and shielding from
    your worst fears.

Take good care of yourself, jittery nerves and all

    Grrrrrr!
I just went through this same scare about 9 months ago. I had a small growth on the white portion of my eye and the eye doctor was very concerned so he scheduled surgery to have it removed and biopsied. Obviously any eye surgery is scary and yes I was awake for it but in reality it was not bad at all, they give you I don't care drugs LOL! It ended up being precancerous and we just need to keep an watchful eye on it to make sure it does not return. Keep us posted on this goes, you have my prayers and my wishes for a positive outcome!
