Surgery
I've also thought about you lately. I've seen you post, but haven't seen a follow up. Know you have a big team of doctors working with you and just wondering how you are doing.

Had a holiday
Have been away from all contact for a week lying in the sun in Menorca off the southern caost of Spain sandwiched between two visits to the Olympics including seeing the last evening of athletics with Mo Farrah's 5000m gold and the 4X100m mens final with Bolt and Blake setting a world record- an experience I will never forget and was so pleased to be able to make and share with my wife and kids. Booked it all so long ago and was never sure I'd be able to make it for a myriad of reasons; so incredibly grateful for the chance to do it.
Break from it all did me good but back into planning again now. Looks like mid-September may be the date for surgery. Put off because of all the surgeons having their summer leave and happy to wait till everything is in place (August is also the time when new junior docs hit the wards from med school- known as the Killing Zone amongst staff- so pleased to avoid that too!)
No definites yet but planning a meeting with surgeons to discuss further in a couple of weeks. Cramming in 'life' in the mean time and enjoying the luxury of a biped existence while I can. In truth though as I have got my head around things I do now wish it woud just happen.
Thank you all for your thoughts- it really makes me appreciate what a genuine community of people this forum is when a week's absence is noticed.

Glad that the holdiay became a reality.
We do tend to notice when true contributors go missing, because we do care.
Wishing you a good meeting with the surgeons and best possible outcome.
