Will always be there for all the world to see.
I feel ya lol .. Had my peg placed on Monday , hate it, lol but only have to have it for 4 weeks and then they are going to replace it with a Mickey Button, no tube just a nipple and a little smaller. Maybe ask your doc about switching

Let's see...one, two...three...nope wait, four...yep, four.
I have my original belly button, three from my gallbladder removal and one from my peg tube...however, being a guy ...I don't wear a two piece and if I pull my suit up really high (though a bit nerdy) I can cover one of them...boo hahahahah...

That is what the surgeon
That is what the surgeon told me when he put mine in, that I would have 2 belly buttons when he took it out. While on the topic, how bad was it to have it taken out. I am hoping I can get rid of mine in about a month. KInd of nervous about that.0 -

So I guess I'll have 2 then, LOL
As far as removal....I'll be honest it wasn't super comfortable. The kind I had didn't have a balloon on the end of it, it had a valve stopper type thing about the size of a quarter.I had to have mine removed at the ER because it was giving me trouble and my GI was not in the office so they instructed me to go to the ER. While in the ER the dr says fo me "I've never removed one of these, I'm going to page your dr and see how she wants me to do it" So from my bedside he pages my dr and she says to him, "just have her hold her breath and give it a very aggressive pull"
So that is what they did and out it came. I was tender for a few days afterward, almost like when they put it in but not horrible. They can give you a pain med but you may have to ask for it. Good luck to you and hopefully you do get it out soon. I'm loving the freedom without it. No more trying keep it under my shirt, or worrying about any of that kind of stuff. It did force me to have to eat by mouth though which is still pretty sore but I'm doing it. I'm determined to put back on my lost weight. It's only 6 weeks tho, the weight probably won't show up for a while, or so they say.

PEG no more
Hi Billie,
I had the same design of PEG as yours and when the yanked it out it made a pop followed by a whoosh. If I knew you were going to let anyone remove it I might have volunteered (not really). It is true; you will now have a second belly button and will be required to state as such on your driver’s license. To be brutally honest, mine looks more like a winking eye than a belly button (if that helps).

Matt,
Mine made the pop and swoosh also! I forgot to mention that part. Did it hurt when you got yours out? I know I let out a big UGH! The ER dr was so apologetic.
So far mine looks just like another belly button except a tiny bit smaller than my original one. Can't say I love this look but things could be much worse.

Billie,
No it did not hurt, but I did feel like I was losing an old friend, we use to eat and drink together quite often. My wife did come in and watch the removal; I think I got a WOW out of her. Mine did look like a belly button, but tonight when I wrote my response it does look like a winking eye.
Good night, sleep tight,
