One down and 5 to go!
It's only 6:30. Is it too early to go to bed? It gets dark around 8:15 now. I think I will probably be in bed very early tonight, at least based on how I feel now.

Hi Carla
So glad you got the first one behind you. I hope and pray the next five go smoothly, with little side effects.

Yeah! So glad you have the fiRst one done. I also was supposed to go back for fluids 2 days post chemo round. However I dicsovered I could have the hoitals's home health bring the bags of saline to me on the last day of the round to the infusion center for me.
They left my port accessed and I woul drip the fluids in on my own for 2 sometimes 3 days later. This saved me trips to infusions center . Home health showed me how to do this. It was easy. Just wanted to mention this to you in case you got too weak to travel back so much.;)
Hoping this cisplatin kicks tail and feathers off of cancer of you!

So glad you got the first out of the way. Cisplatin depletes your fluids QUICKLY so make sure you drink alot. I ended up passed out on my kitchen floor after my first treatment and that was after they gave me 2 liters of fluid. Going in for fluids was day two of my cycle.
Just keep your eye on the end. Did your doc give you pain pills for the joint pain you will start getting once you get into treatments? If you are not against it ask. Another hint I read on the breast cancer board after I was done but you may wanna try. There is a vitamin out there called L-glutemine. My doc had me on it at the end for neuropathy but I read on the board that someones doc told them to take it during to relieve the pain. She said she started taking the vitamin that day and had barely any pain. Anything is worth a try. Ask your doc about it if you would like.
Also the heating pad was my best friend during that time. Helped so much. Fluids, fluids, fluids. If you get sick of water - drink anything decaffinated. My husband bought a bunch of crystal light water flavors and that new stuff called mio.... For as long as I live I don't think I will ever drink purple gatorade again.... Lived on that too.0 -

I used Glutamine for muscle aches which occurred 4-5 days after Taxol/Carbo. I didn't know about it until my 3rd chemo session when the nurse said that some of her patients tried Glutamine. So we bought the powder and mixed 1Tbs with a 8oz juice 3X/day for the three days post chemo, and what a difference!
Good Luck with all your treatments!
