Bless your heart.....don't worry!rallendorfer said:ohhh nooo Jamie
Forget what I said. Just what I feared. Should have kept my big mouth shut. You can't quit! I can't either no matter how hard it is. I will continue because its the only way. Please forgive me...I don't want to scare you!! I don't want you to quit. Begging.
You do not have a big mouth. You are just telling us how you feel and I really appreciate it. I did see my onc yesterday and I tried to tell her I want to quit but she wouldn't listen to me. I told my husband that when I really decide to quit, I will just have to stop going to my onc.....period. She pretty much "read me the riot act" because I complained about the extreme bone and joint pain but I was too afraid to take a prescription pain med for fear that it would make me sick (I can't take codeine in any form). I did get IV fluids and anti-nausea meds while I was there yesterday and left there feeling much better. I told her it was the first day I felt like I could drive safely there and she told me if I didn't have family or friends to take me that I should call an ambulance to take me. I thought that was a little "unreal" of her to say. She is really pushing me to take anti-depressants but I am still against that and will stand my ground when it comes to that. I'm glad you are not giving up and please don't ever think you can't share your thoughts with us. We are in this together!!!
HUGS!!!

I'm sending positiverallendorfer said:Ended up going to lab
They didn't understand how I would have an infection after getting the Neulasta shot. Dr said because I had a reaction to Taxotere last Friday it would be a good idea to get some blood work to try and see what is going on.
Today a strange pain: running up and down my right leg and into my ankle and heel. Hobbling around like an old lady. My thumbs feel like I hit them with a hammer! Can that be from the chemo? My tongue is all white from being burned, so ill. Fever is back. I have to work today, hope it can be done.
I'm sending positive thoughts, love and lots of prayers.0 -
So sorry you are having suchrallendorfer said:i am a wreck
Everything hurts. I can't put weight on my heel to walk, my mouth is burnt, my vein at the infusion site is painful, my thumbs are sore, every breath feels too cold to breathe. They said thrush is in globules not like my tongue is all white. Dr suspects Neulasta shot caused the fever. Now it is low grade not above 100. This is awful. I made it through the day drinking as much as possible trying to feel better...even YUCK coconut water mixed with everything. Can't eat much- everything tastes like wax or shortening, but I am trying anyway. Lost 5 lbs since Friday. Biotene, gargling with salt/baking soda water, vicodin, advil, just still sick.
Headache is gone, and labs came back normal. I am keeping a journal of everything now like VickiSam suggested. Dr said Taxotere causes weird pains in strange places and would explain leg (feels like a charlie horse constantly going down my leg into my heel) Maybe they need to cut back on how much they give me? This is awful. I need strength for 3 more of these treatments??!!
So sorry you are having such a hard time. I'm taking Taxotere,Carboplatan and Herceptin. I've had one Neulasta shot and it just about did me in. Last time I had Nepugen(?) and it wasn't nearly as painful. I did have to have 3 days of shots which was a pain in the rear but I'll take that any day over the pain from the Neulasta. Luckily no fevers but I do have the tearing eyes which make seeing and reading almost impossible. Only time it's not pouring is if I sit still. I am using the eye drops but can't tell they have helped much. The fatigue is very frustrating too. I have my 5th of 6 treatments on Monday and I dread it more every time. There's an end in sight at least. After chemo is over I have 30 radiation treatments and Herception until May. Hope you are having a much better day today. Love your doggies!!0 -

You scared the crap out of me. It really made me think about how I vent. If it discourages someone so that they give up, how can I face myself in the mirror again? I am so relieved that you are trudging forward, even though reluctantly. I am glad the onc would not let you stop, and hope you never do. I don't know how you can drive there and back, I really don't...its like you are super human or something. With all of the well-wishers in the beginning isn't there someone that you can call? The anti depressants I understand too. I resist as well but by next week I think I may be on them for the first time. I asked for them but the onc forgot, so I would have to call for a script.
BTW: I am feeling alot better today...really!
Love ya,

I did have a better day. I think that the Neulasta shot is going bye-bye for me. I only was getting it because we use our dogs in the Hospital in Therapy Dog work. But I have been so stinkin' sick each time I haven't been doing it! So, I think I can take the chance and stop it. You are rounding the bend and into home stretch...won't that be a wonderful day? It seems so impossible that we can actually one day feel better after these poisonous drugs doesn't it?
Thanks for your concern!

Just checking in-been thinking about you,Jamie and Zigman going thru the Taxotere..I too wanted to stop chemo, I had the 4 Adriamcian/Cytoxin then 12 of Taxol.. My onco wouldn't let me stop either!! I was able to talk him into giving me an extra week in between treatments once!! I also was feverish a couple times and always had 3 shots of Neupogen before each chemo. Shots on Mon,Tues,Wed then chemo on Thursdays. You will get through this!!
Please continue to share all your frustrations, thoughts and side effects--that's what we are here for! Jamie, you can do this, please don't stop treatment! Once, when I didn't have a ride to chemo, I called a taxi and they gave me half off since the destination was the cancer center...
Please let us know how you all are doing today(if you feel up to it)
Many thoughts & prayers,
Joyce0
