I have been waking up about every hour with mouth pain, dry mouth, and bleeding. Sometimes I get a hour and a half of sleep between. The pain is real sharp. I think I must be sleeping with my mouth open. any sugestions..
I am in my 6th week of Radiation, with 9 more treatments. For pain I have time release morphine and I also have loratab for the rough times.

    Symptoms
The bleeding may be the only thing untypical. Where exactly is the blood coming from? Are you on Magic Mouthwash and have med(s) for pain? For me, not getting much sleep per time of sleeping was not a bad thing. Most I wanted was less than 4-hours/sleep. And, keep an eye on the body temp- 101 or over for any length of time was what the Drs told me let them know it was getting beyond my body's ability to fight the fight. Hope you have something for the pain. It is not an easy thing to get thru this (duh), but it is very doable, and we do survive.

I have not had any bleeding
I have not had any bleeding in my mouth but I do have the dry mouth sometimes. I have used a cool mist humidifier by my bed at night and I think it has helped with the dryness. Then I also keep a spray bottle of Biotene spray so I can use it when needed. Just a couple of suggestions.

If you are going through rads now
the bleeding is not that uncommon. I had daily bleeding from about week four of rads, till I was probably six weeks past rads. Part of this depends on exactly where your malignancy is located. Have you read the superthread regarding dry mouth? Someone will be along to provide you a link.

I didn't get the bleeding mouth
during radiation, but I did get it with my last chemo treatment. My lips were lined with sores, and they'd dry out in the night. If I happened to close my lips, they'd stick and when pulled apart, the bleeding would start.

I don't know how you'd make yourself sleep with your mouth closed...if your nose is clear that would help...

My mouth hasn't been the same since my last chemo :(.

    Bleeding
Ever since rads I've slept with my mouth open. At least once or twice a week I end up biting the inside of my cheeks while asleep. Most of the time it wakes me up but lately I've noticed the sores in the morning. What I do is wear a mouth guard that I bought at the drugstore. It molds to your bite and prevents any biting or grinding. All I can figure is the stress of having this disease shows up in my mouth. What else would explain it?

Just a thought of what it may be. I am probably way off on this one.
