I have had so many people tell me I am so young for an ovarian cancer diagnosis... I will be 46 in October.

How old were you when you were diagnosed?

    I was diagnosed at age 43.
    I was diagnosed at age 43. Yes we are young from what Ive learned most get this at age 50-60. However, there are women diagnosed at much younger ages than us.

    I was 57
    I think at 57 I am still too young. We are all too young. It is just a nasty disease!

    Yes we are too young..... My parents live in Florida and my mom was telling me about an article she read in their local paper for a fundraiser. The money was being raised to help the family of a girl in 7th grade that was diagnosed with stage iv ovarian cancer. Unbelievable....

    I was diagnosed in mid September 2010,
    about three weeks before my 50th birthday.

    I was originally diagnosed with borderline ovarian cancer at age 24. Just reoccurred at age 49 as low grade.

    we are a year apart what day in October
    I will be 47 on October 28th and I am told all the time I am very young for ovarian cancer also.

    I was diagnosed in January when I was 73.. One of the oldest ones here. The first time I had ever been in the hospital excpt to have my kids. Have always been very healthy.

    I was 33 when diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I was diagnosed with colon cancer at age 31. I have a genetic component though, which is why I got it so early.

    My sister is 32
    She doesn't have a child yet and will never have. She had just undergone TAHBSO and will have chemo in 2 weeks.

    I was 27 when I was diagnosed and will be 30 next month.

    dgalaxy, can I ask how you were followed all these years? My tumor was borderline to low grade at diagnosis, but it had micro-papillary features on the metastatic sites that put me at a higher risk for recurrence later on. Were you treated with chemo initially or just surgery? I'm so scared that I'm going to be blindsided with a recurrence someday.
