Hello thereDadysGirl said:Thanks Liz... He is ok a lot
Thanks Liz... He is ok a lot of nausea even with Iv zofran he may get something stronger... He fights it a little bit... Body rash is less itchy... Had all his teeth hurt 4am had to get pain meds... Still walking even though gets completely drained after and sleeps... I think the walking is helping him... Sometime we are walking back and forth in this small units hallway max 6 patients only in the unit... At 3, 5 in the morning we are walking... All the nurses are great...staff is wonderful... Had more platelets but probably will get more tonight after blood work as its at 16 and less than 16 need more.. Was down to 9 last evening...WBC remains at < 0.1
Mike they start the neuphrogen on day +5 here so yesterday and as I write they're giving him the second one...how are you doing Mike? He is pretty nauseated let me go ... Thank you again for asking and thinking of my Dad Liz... Hugs...
Hi DaddysGirl,
Thanks for keeping us posted on your father. I agree wtih Mike - walking is good
when possible. It helps with many things.
Hugs and positive thoughts,
Jim

Hi DadysGirl,
I hope that your dad gets better soon, he sounds like he's really trying his hardest. At least he is still trying to move around by walking, hope his teeth stop hurting and that the nausea goes away. Is he almost done with all of this? How much longer does he have to stay in the hospital?
May God continue to give you both the strength to keep going! I'm praying for many people on this site which includes you, your dad and many others. (((Hugs)))
Sincerely,
Liz0 -

Hi Liz, hi Mike, hi everyone... It's 3:20am and Dad got some neutrophils 20 of them... Goal is 500 for two days to go home... Mike he couldn't beat your record of 9 days. As of midnight he is on his day +9. No mouth sores, just swollen gums all teeth gums hurt and sore throat mild with lymph node areas in neck are tender... A lot of nausea, but no throwing up... Tolerates cereal rice krispies with milk, ice cream and vegs only... No other food, can't handle seeing it, yesterday cafeteria also put the main meal with vegs and he had to have it leave the room immediately smell, site and he couldn't even. Pick on vegs, had cereal even though I have boiled broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, zucchini and froze it from home after seeing the main meal he didn't want it... He got large two palm size bruise on arm and a smaller one in stomach from shots, low platelets... Looks awful but doesn't hurt... Rash is still everywhere sometime seems inflamed sometime seems like its getting better, but since he is doing so well and it is tolerable they didn't want to break the balance by switching medications... Tuesday night he was shivering they checked no temp 15 mins later fever but it didn't stay high enough for an hour to do cultures on port, catheterer , X-ray etc... Spiked again later at night but went down again... He did a lot of moaning during the night and couldn't take shower so missed one day only.... Just got his blood work results, his liver enzyme just made normal range the total biliburin part of it... Rest of it was normal always... His WBC was 0.1 yesterday from < 0.1 and now it is 0.2 hct 24.4 no transfusion until < 24 and platelet 12 needs transfusion... He's been getting platelet transf. daily....his lactate dehydrogenase worries me still... Since if it is less than normal ie low then no lymphoma ... His is 201 still and normal range is 122-225. That's what I've read normal or low is good but low def. means no lymphoma...
We all appreciate all your prayers... The only explanation for him to do well so far is the prayers, God's help... Yes not easy but no complications is good and the rest difficult times will pass... The infusion day I'll never forget it was scary...
Hoping for clean results at the end for my dad and everyone else here... Mike how did shopping go? Do you tire easily ? Dad is tiring easily his color changes even... Again, it means the world to us that you are thinking praying and asking about my Dad... Prayers for each of you...0 -

Your dad is doig great!!!! I am so happy to hear that. Your right there were definitely some hiches along the way but it gets beter and better everyday. I am so glad to see that his WBC are on the rise. Dont worry bout the food thing it gets better. For a couple days i only ate toast, then i added some vegggies, i didnt eat meat for a while and dairy wasnt until a week after i got home. It will come but rushing will run the rish of getting him an upset stomach. He has made it through the storm and there will be sunny days aheead. You are such a great daughter and im sure your dad knows how much you love him. I pray daily for your dad and your family. So glad to hear him doing well. I know he wants to go home and that day will be soon.0 -

Hi DaddysGirl,
I agree with Liz, your dad made it through the roughest part and now he will slowly but surely get better as each day passes. It just takes time for our bodies to repair after so much has been done to it. You are such a loving sweet daughter and so caring with your dad....makes my heart happy. My prayers are with you and your family, and "YES"...be sure to take care of yourself too. Much love...Sue (FNHL-2-3a-6/10)0 -

Stem Cell
We may have something in common. I am getting ready to have a stem cell transplant. I have a daughter who is 10 months old. I got diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma 3 months after we found out my wife was pregnant. Any way I have achieved complete remission (CR) and the next step is a stem cell transplant. I wish you well Daddys girl. My daughter is what kept me fighting so hard. I love her and want to be there for her. It is hard and the emotions cannot truly be defined.
God bless you and your family Daddys girl.0 -

I am so happy for your dad. He is going to get through all this and it will soon be a memory for the whole family. I want you to know that the support that you are giving your dad is so important. Going through this would be absolutely unbearable without the support of loved ones. You love your dad with all your heart and that shows in your messages. Your a great daughter and he obviously did a great job raising his little girl. Hes going to need you and in order for you to give what he needs please take care of yourself. Rest and occasionally do things for yourself. Dont forget your important too and I cant even imagine how hard it is for the caregivers to do what they do. Sometimes I think my caregivers have it harder than I do.
Today was great. Went and got labs done and everything still looks good. They gave me a shot of neuprogen to give my ANC a little boost. But the best thing was today I had my central line removed!!!! So glad to have that gone and no longer haging outta my body. I hated that thing. But the removal was so simple and quick. Took bout 15 minutes and it was done.
As always im praying your dad and I know hes gonna be great!0 -

He has had heart attack on past and with fluid build up u can have heart failure I wish things were done better I asked doc about any damage to his heart she said a resident about heart failure but his heart is ok now it is not shallow... So,they're gonna give him laysic diuretic now... I really don't like this the last two days it hasn't been great. Today he to,d doc that yesterday he was short of breath very badly because he could 't even lay down, there was no position that felt ok being out of breath he says today.
