I got a job!
Basketcase checking in here! Well, I finally got a job! Praise the Lord! I got on at Jo-Ann's Craft Store. I start Aug. 5. It's from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. until Sept. 7. They are going to be remodeling the store and they were hiring a crew for overnite; but when that's finished they'll be hiring seasonal help and that would last through January and we would be the first group to be talked to about that if all goes well. It's Sun-Thurs. nite. I'll be merchandising moving things from old spot to new spot. I figure Charlie's thrilled for me and smiling since this is part of what he did. I don't have to break down shelves and all that like he did. But it's retail and I am a crafty person and when I was interviewed she told me "I can see you as being great with customer service on the floor". Now it is minimum wage but that's better than nothing and it is 40 hours during this remodel and then if I get on for the seasonal she said it was about 20-35 hrs/week which will let me substitute teach too. And it's about 4 miles from my house! I'm excited and I truly feel Charlie had a part in it as well as the good Lord! May sound a little crazy but it does make me feel mine and Charlie's so special connection is still going on and will continue to go on. Also it lends itself if I get on fulltime to still continuing to work some when my retirement starts and SS begins as I would be able to be sure I didn't make over the allowed amount for SS benefits.
I've been doing pretty good during this summer as it is hard for me. I went to a movie on our anniversary June 28. And ladies the next week I went to see Magic Mike. Let me tell you Matthew McConoughey looks fine! Last Friday I saw Madea's Witness Protection. That was so funny. And if any of you out there are AARP members at the Regal Cinemas here you can get a 64oz. popcorn and 32 oz. drink for $5.50. Pretty good deal with today's movie prices! Am finally taking Gladys, the lady who looked after Robert for us to Chatt. on Wed. to see my nephew Brian. He just loves her and got to know her when he would be with my brother Richard (the one that passed away 8 weeks after Charlie) doing our home improvement projects. And Brian is doing well. They've got him standing now and will be getting him starting to learn to walk again. They're trying to get his eye surgery scheduled. He has one eye that wanders but doesn't affect his vision but affects his perception with trying to stand. It was caused by the accident but fortunately not a big deal to correct. Brian doesn't know she's coming; she wants to surprise him. We'll just be gone for the day. The 27th is my birthday as well as Charlie's but my friend Debbie will be down here and we're going to have a playdate and then meet my friends Tamara and Luis for dinner at Provino's. Thought about trying to make a quick trip into NC but I can't leave Chargee like I can Sammy and I can't take him with me and can't afford to board him and he's just too little to leave right now. He's only 4 months old and he's going to have to be in his pen when while I am at work so he'll be getting adjusted to that. I spoil my babies so much! Well guess I'll for now as have to take Chargee to vet for final puppy appt. today at 2:30. Thanks for all the prayers and continued ones; hope all is well with everyone and oh, I do have a prayer request; a fellow in my church, Matt lost his brother Mike last week due to this beast. He'd been battling cancer for some time and did well for a while and bam came back with avengence. He just turned 50 a couple of weeks ago; had gotten into the bones and all and was not a good scene. Take care; love y'all and God Bless!

So happy you got on at JoAnn's. I was thinking about going there to work during the holidays myself. Have a great birthday.

Wonderful! I can JUST see you at Joann's. I was just planning my trip there today. I used to go to Joanns when I was stressed because it is so distracting. I got to calling it Saint Joann's-our lady of Fabric. No disrespect intended!!
I am SO happy for you.
Hugs
