Update - Colonoscopy, Pulmonary Dr., Etc.. AND HELLO PINKS!
I wanted to give you an update about how I'm doing.
I saw my Onco a few weeks ago, and everything went well (AMEN to that). I've been having a dry cough for a while, which has now gotten better, but my Onco still wants me to see a pulmonary specialist at sloan. I will see this Dr. this coming Friday. My onco did an xray of my lungs, but didn't show anything. I am coughing less now.
I am scheduled to have a colonoscopy on Monday!!! Say what?! Say what!? Yes. I'm 34 but my Colon Dr. thinks it's a good idea to "check things out" because of my dx. And it's never too young to start. So Monday I go and get it done. Sunday is my prep day. YUK. I'm actually scared! This is my first. Any suggestions/recommendations? What was your experience?
On another note, I hope everyone is doing very well. And for the pink sisters who are having tests done, getting treatments, etc. please know you're always in my prayers.
Sending everyone a super big hug.
You're welcomed to come to my colonoscopy exam on Monday.

I know you're supposed to have a baseline one at 50, but I put it off 8 years because I was so scared! I know--what a jerk! Anyway, it was really a piece of cake--really. The procedure was nothing at all because I was asleep.
Ok--gross alert. Stop reading now if you can't take graphic talk!
The prep--well, let's just say it was not too much fun, but no where near cancer treatments! One warning I give everyone--After I drank some of the liquid, I was just sitting in my family room with my husband thinking, "This isn't so bad, I do feel a little rumbling, but I know I can get to the bathroom just fine." As soon as that thought went out of my head, some type of explosion occurred in my abdomen and as I got up, I pooped my pants!!! Embarrassing, but really funny. So--when they say stay close to a bathroom, they really mean--be sitting on the toilet for a few hours! At least for me.
You'll do great.

WOW! That's encouraging. Have they all been the same for you Denise? This is amazing.
why annually if you don't mind my asking?0 -
I don't mind reading this at all! I like open lol. So sorry you experienced the accident. Tomorrow I do my prep. Then again the next day. They have me drink at 6PM, then again at 6AM next day. Weird? I'll do it. No choice. :-(missrenee said:I had my first colonoscopy last October

Been there, done that ... My Mom actually told me over, and over again to stay
near a bathroom, with a good book. Prep day is a day I like to forget -- the
jungle juice mixture, along with other oral laxatives -- YUK! I do remember it
took a while .. before my stomach started to rumble. Once, it did -- well, I
spent the better part of the afternoon - by the white porcelain throne.
I don't want to scare 'Have Faith' ..., but today - your prep day, will be
a day spent inside - resting, and cleansing.
water, clear broth, and jello -- yum, yum, yummy!
Good luck, and prayers.
