Chemo Today
I have my third infusion today and tomorrow. Bendamustine. Don't know if my doc is adding Ofatumumab or not. Won't know until I see her one hour before the infusion. I am not looking forward to that- can cause weird infusion reactions. Anybody had it yet? But hopefully it will cause a longer Remission- which of course is the prize at the end of this mess.
Yesterday I had a mini meltdown. It came out of nowhere. Sometimes this journey can just wear you out. As you all know so well.
So if I could ask for your prayers today. But please keep Lisha in your prayers - she's really having a stressful day.
Cancer sucks.
Hugs,
Donna

It's OK
Dear Donna,
It's OK to have a meltdown, and maybe scream also. It gets the poison out of your bodyy.
It's a good thing.
You and Lisha are always in my prayers. As everyone elso. Love Maggie0 -
Meltdowns
Hi Donna, I wrote you a post but I don't know what happened to it!
Donna I have had a few meltdowns myself (many)lol! I think it's good to cry once in a while, I think that it cleanses your soul. We try to be so strong and put on a tough front that sometimes we just need to let everything out! I will pray for you and Lisha on this very difficult time. (((Hugs)))
Sincerely,

Melt down....
Hi Donna,
Yes, you are so right...this lousy cancer journey can definetely wear us out! Did you end up getting the Ofatumumab today? I did some reading on it, and it sounds like a good substitute when Rituxan hasn't worked out. The side effects are pretty general and it appears once the first dose is introduced and if well tolerated, things go smoothly from there on. What I read on it kind of reminds me of the same information I received about Rituxan. Doesn't seem to be harsh. Let us know if your getting it..ok? Melt downs are pretty common with me, but when it happens the process is usually short lived. Seems to happen the most when I'm holding Lizzy during her nap time....not every day, but at least a couple of times each week. I just don't want to get cut short watching her grow up. You hang in there Donna, and of course you are in my daily prayers...dear sweet Lisha also. Man...I just wish they would find a darn cure for all of us!
Love you...Sue (FNHL-2-3A-6/10)0 -
Chemo today
Hi all,
Had my second day of Bendamustine today- feel like a truck hit me. No appetite and just don't feel well. No Ofatumumab today. Turns out that they have to administer the first dose in the hospital so I can be monitored carefully. So I'll be admitted on the 31st and will spend the night. Providing it all goes ok without too many side effects I'll get it with the Bendamustine a week later. Boy was I surprised when they told me this one!
So just another day in Lymphoma land. haha
Love ya,
Donna0 -

Hi Donna,
I hope you feel a little better today (hope you don't see that truck in a while)lol! The more medicine the doctors pump into us the worse we feel. I remember that by my fourth Rituxan treatment I was extremely tired, I can't even imagine getting harsher medicines. Take it easy, eat whatever your stomach can handle. I will be thinking of you! Sending you positive thoughts.
Sincerely,
Liz0 -

Still feel awful- having trouble eating anything. At least I know that it will pass! Thanks for all the warm wishes, prayers and hugs.
My daughter came home for a few days to pamper me. How lucky am I??

Hi Donna
I am so sorry that you are still feeling so awful. Gosh I really hope that by the end of the day you start to feel a little better.
Daughters are wonderful. How nice that yours was able to come and pamper you. You need it and deserve it.
Rest as much as possible and try tiny bites of simple foods. Applesauce, plain baked potato, cream of wheat etc.
I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
Huge hugs

Hi Donna,
I'm so glad your daughter is there to pamper you...you soooo deserve it! Wish I lived close enough to bring you some homemade chicken soup. Try to eat a little bit to keep your energy up...don't forget about Boost. I didn't like Boost, so I drank the chocolate Carnation instant breakfast drink. Not the best, but still better than eating nothing. Hang in there sweetie...Much love...Sue0 -

Hi everyone,
Feeling better today. Eating a bit- pain easing. Energy coming back. I'm monitoring myself though- you know the drill. Easy to over-do it at this stage.
I'm very shaken - got the news that my brother ( we are very close) has lung cancer. Geez. What a shocker.
It is a small tumor and he has opted for no surgery just radiation. He's in Florida and i'm in Jersey so it makes it hard. Praying that it'll all be okay. I just want to fly down and be with him and my family has put there foot down and said no way.
So - another day of this mess. I truly believe that God does not give us more than we can handle. I don't feel that way right now - but I believe it. So I'm taking this one hour at a time. I'm sure the deep pain of it will ease.
Thanks for listening, caring and just being the great support that you all are.
Hugs,
Donna
P.S. I hate cancer.0 -

Hi Donna,
I'm glad you're feeling better and thanks for sharing.
I'm so sorry to hear about your brother.
Dang - when will this ever end?
Hopefully you can phone and use the Internet and "be" with
your brother. Encourage him to check this site out also.

Hodkins Lymphoma Bendamustine.
Hello there
I have just signed up with Cancer Survivor Network today. I ironically have just received Bendamustine or Treanda yesterday. I have another dose to do today. I have had 5 cycles of this chemo. It is a strong chemo and the only chemo that has made me thrown up. I have received 3 other forms of chemo. I have been battling Hodgkins since March 2011. The good news is this chemo has put me into complete remission (CR). I had to do this cycle to prep me up for Stem Cell transplant. Thank Goodness we are not on a Chemo named Eshap. It was by far the strongest most painstaking recovery I have ever had to go through with cancer. 5 days straight of chemo bags in hospital facility. And 4 nights of a 24/7 drip bag that is in a fanny pack. Brutal chemo.
Any way all chemo I have been through has involved a truck slamming into me.
I wish you a good recovery.
God bless you and your family my friend.0 -

Dear Donna,
What a heartbreak you must be feeling for your brother. When is this madness going to end, we need a cure for cancer and many other diseases! I'm really sorry that you couldn't join him in this very difficult time but I'm sure that he knows that you love him. Well at least you are eating a little bit. Just take one day at a time and again really sorry to hear about your brother! Take care, sending you a huge hug from TX.
Sincerely,
Liz0 -

Hi Donna,
Oh my, I'm so sorry to hear the news about your brother. One more thing to add to the stress ...which is so hard on the immune system. My sister called earlier this week and said the biopsy she had done with a spot on her back came back positive for skin cancer. Next week she goes to a surgeon for removal and will learn more what she is dealing with. I live about 7 hours from her so it won't be that hard to get to her if needed. I'm glad to hear you are feeling better today...pain easing and eating a bit more...keep it up, and remember to listen to your body. I hear ya friend...I "HATE" cancer too! We will all get through this...keep the faith! Positive thoughts and prayers still coming your way sweetie. Much love...Sue0
