Just wondering about you !
NitaNita,
Hey I was just wondering how you were doing. Glad to hear things are heading in the right direction ! The scars do get a bit less as time goes on...guess it's just our mark of being a survivor. So happy to hear your energy level has improved so fast ! Be good to yourself, and best of everything wished for you ! Katie0 -
Great News
Hi Nita,
good to hear from you. Sounds like you are doing really well all things considered.
And amazing after only 3 weeks !! Your tongue being numb is normal at this time in your recovery, but if you are concerned about any bump or sore, make sure to run it by one of your doctors just to be sure.
Keep up the good work !0 -

Hi Nita ...glad you are doing well.....I too have not posted in bit (at least it seems like it) ..crazy busy in resort town here...
I like what I saw Matt post (Civilmatt) recently .."don't borrow trouble" .. He makes a good point ...we all have been there, see something, wonder about it ....just get it checked at your next appt or make one to get it checked ...sure all will be fine ....you were caught VERY early compared to most of us on this board
Best,

Hey Nita
Glad you seem to be doing well after surgery. Having had a similar surgery some time ago, the geography of your mouth and neck are a bit different and you tend to have little pains and tingles and strange feelings going on with the healing process.
Its hard not to worry and you need to keep an eye on things but the chances are this type of thing is just part of healing. There are little lumps and bumps of scar tissue and little pockets swelling stay in certain areas for a long time, but after the first few weeks none of it is majorly concerning and you get used to it.
My scar is infinitely better than it was at the start - it mostly looks like a crease across my neck and the bit that goes up to my ear is fading. I was back training with my soccer team about 7 weeks after the surgery, and I played golf yesterday for the first time since the surgery so that was a good test for the scar tissue!
I really hope you continue to heal well. I know from my point of view the first few weeks were fairly tough (I had a wound infection also) but after the good news from the pathology it was all tolerable - I suppose that makes it all worthwhile and you can take the pain if you have a light at the end of the tunnel.
I remember posting that 5 weeks on I went on holiday to Dubai, 7 weeks on I was back playing sports. In the grand scheme of things the healing from the operation doesn't take too long before you feel back to normality. I don't even look at the scar all that much anymore which is a good sign, I couldn't take my eyes off it at first!
All the best

Wow Nita,
You should go back and read your first posts and compare those to now. It just brightens my day to read that you are going back to work and are healing so well.
