ARE YOU SUFFERING FROM A BANNED IP ?
Internet provider.
In most cases, the IP address is "dynamic"; your IP address will
usually change each time you disconnect your system from your
provider, and reconnect to your provider.
In other cases (like mine), the IP address is static; the IP address
remains the same unless manually changed by the provider.
So when you get a message like this:
>
> "Your IP address (6--.2--.---.--1) was recently used to post spam to
> this website. For this reason, you are currently not allowed to
> post new content. If you believe this is in error, please contact
> the site administrator."

Try disconnecting your modem (and/or router) for ten minutes or so,
and then reconnect.
You can use this link: http://www.whatismyip.com/ to see what your
real IP address is, and be able to tell if disconnecting changes it!
This note from Greta may help to understand what's going on:

Hi,John.
I apologize for the inconvenience. You aren't the only person
this is happening to. Luckily, only a handful of people seem to
be affected. It's some kind of technical issue caused by
attempting to tweak the spam filter. IT is working to correct it.
Not only have there been a few particularly bad (as in hundreds
of spam generated on boards) spammers on the boards, we even had
a couple using the CSN private messaging feature to spam
individuals.
At any rate, according to the folks this "ban" has affected, it
is time-limited and it only affects their ability to reply, not
originate a topic. If they originate a topic, for some reason it
serves to eliminate the ban altogether. It's very strange.
IT is working on it.
Thanks and again, my apologies
Greta"

So...... Until they fix it, my IP is banned; My IP is of the static type.
Hopefully, this note will help those that have so far escaped the
poor performance of the IT (Internet Technicians) involved.
(and yes, -my- IP is still banned)
Best wishes to all for good health!
John
