Oh I feel your pain!
I had the same problem during radiation. I used every product they gave me and I burned like the worst sun burn ever - particularly, the skin on my chest that has had sun exposure during every time I've worn a swimming suit. I had blisters - it itched and hurt at the same time. All I heard was how good I was doing. I stuck it out and honestly, it healed very quickly after I was done. It helped that my booster radiation was the last week and focused on my incision/cancer site. It gave the most painful area a head start in healing. I came through it with just a slight tan appearence aftewards. You've gotten this far - I'm sure you can make it to the end.
Gentle hugs to you!

OUCH
So sorry! I had 80 total rad treatments and got burned, I was given radia gel sheets which gave me a lot of comfort. Here is a link you can copy and paste to learn more about. They are a bit costly but are very helpful.

I used lots of Aquaphor and Biafine, but, use only what your rads oncologist says to. I am so sorry you burned, I never did, so, I was lucky.
If you burn bad, your rads onco might stop your treatments to give your skin a break. This is very common to do this. They don't want to burn you.
Good luck and you whine anytime,

I feel your pain! I had radiation this past January and February. I was a light pink color until the last 3 weeks of treatment when I fired and then all my skin under my armpit, side of chest and below chest blistered and weeped, peeled, swelled and retained fluid. I was a mess and in so much pain I had to go back on my pain killers. Actually after each treatment the nurses would put aqua for mixed with lidocaine on my then wrap me up like a mummy in gauze. They said I was doing well compared to some. I would have like to have seen the ones that didn't do well! Amazingly, the skin healed up and all i'm left with now is a slight tan. I am not sure if the burning was do to my light complexion because I faithfully used all the creams recommended here plus more.0 -

I'm really surprised cause I'm olive complected, but dr. Said it doesn't matter. I get the "frosting" too. My neck is the worst cause evey time i move my head, it pulls.0 -

Ouch is right! I didn't burn so I know I was lucky. What does your rads onco say to do?

I used these towards the end and it was cooling and soothing. Ask your rads doctor if he thinks this is a good idea. It kept me from going bonkers towards the end.0 -

I was pretty burned but when I got the boost, oh wow!!!!!!! The only reason I got my next to last treatment was because I was already set up. I did not have to complete my 33rd treatment.
I tried the Nu-Gel with a surgical bra but that seemed to make it worse. Telfa pads weren't big enough nor absorbent enough for all the weeping. Soooo, my daughter brought me some long feminine napkins. Actually I think they were incontinence pads but who cares. I used sports bras and was able to apply Silvadine cream, put the napkin on the boost area and due to the adhesive, it stuck to the bra and stayed right where it was supposed to. No more damp PJs or sheets.
It's a nasty thing to go through and already an emotional time since usually this is when treatment has reached or neared the end. I was so sick of cancer by that time it did seem to be the straw that broke the camel's back. But one day I noticed the pad came off pretty dry and clean.0 -

Like everyone has said: it's "normal" whateverthehell that means these days. I burned and opened up and was generally miserable. There are pictures on my expression page if you want to compare notes. As soon as you are finished, there are good drugs--I LOVE silvadene!
Good luck,

I had some pretty bad burns, too. I bought white flannel at the fabric store & cut the
fabric into 9 inch squares. I put those in my bra & it helped a lot--I agree, those gauze
pads are not helpful after a certain point. I gritted my teeth & made it through. Toward the end I had nausea, so I kept a Vicks inhaler & mint gum handy to keep myself going.
As soon as the boosts were over, I started healing right away! Good luck!0
