Hi there... see if you can get Calmestine to put in the burned areas. I use to get it at the hospital pharmacy but it does help. I am sorry you are going through this. Big hug!
Jennie, this sounds horrible.....hope they can give you SOMETHING for this....somehow one box of antidiarria stuff doesn't sound like enough. I remember going through tons of the stuff, I would guzzle the liquid and pop pills. I had one appt. with oncologist and he asked how much I needed for control, when I answered he was speechless and said "wow". That's all, just "wow". Hope you get some relief soon.0 -
Jennie if the diarrhea
isn't stopped by all the suggestions here be aware that something else could be going on in your colon like an opportunistic infection. I had one during my chemo/rad treatment before surgery and it nearly did me in. I was at the ER several times during a 2 week period but when you can't get up off the toilet even IV fluids don't help much. Antibiotic therapy did make a difference, and quickly (and I had to take one that is usually reserved for the hard cases and its use is very restricted). Glad it worked!

Stop it, normally onc. They Use to agree as it protects you from neutropenia infections actually most of my stomach problems use to be related with neutropenia infections.

and had to be checked to see if I had a c-diff infection, which apparently tends to turn things green. I didn't have it, so I guess green can be "normal", but you might want to be checked for this, as this type of infection can be very serious.0 -

Jennie, try Penaten it is a diaper rash creme and it worked for me, also put some babyoil in the water when you pee, it is soothing.
drink if possible chickenbroth, you can buy in smal cartons at the grocery store it has some salt in it. That was the advice my Naturopath gave me.
Also appelsauce or grated apple with cinnamon sprinkled on it.
Hot "****" is indeed the word. Do not wipe but sprinkle with water with babyoil.
To dry I sat down on a towel.
Sending you Hugs and healing "butt" lights and lots of laughter,
Hugs, Marjan0 -

Jennie,
When I had open blisters, etc., the nurse told me to actually go pee in water. It sounds gross but it actually helped the burning feeling ~ otherwise I had to have a towel in my mouth because I screamed so loud. I also found great relief from Desitin on the hind-end(do not use during radiation though)...aquaphor is still my friend now but the Desitin (baby ointment) really helped above any and all prescription medicine the Dr. prescribed.
Watch your diet...stay away from high acidic foods like tomato's and I couldn't handle any milk products either. Good luck to you Jennie. Blessings and prayers from Minnesota.
