Ned is on my dance floor now

I suspected that I probably was NED status already. But just to be sure when I went into see the surgeon after my baseline bilateral mamogram for discussion of the film I asked him if I was of NED status. So he gave me a quizzical look and asked me what NED meant. I replied "No Evidence of Disease". And he said "Yes" Music to my ears of course.

I did have to have some liquid removed from my breast that showed up after a re-incision and biopsy of suspicious cells, (done in Jan of this year) after a previous mamogram showed suspicious cells on the lumpectomy breast. Though this removal might have seemed upsetting to some, the removal of this was quite a releif as it was slightly uncomfortable though not painful. I also had been working on some lymhedema in my breast about 6 weeks ago but this was a whole different issue. Who would have thought that there could be two differing issues with fluid in a post lumpectomy breast. Well now we know it is possible.

I am scheduled to have a baseline MRI next week at the request of the chemo doctor, and the surgeon has scheduled a 6 month mamogram on the lumpectomy breast hoping that we will not have a return of the fluid (I forget the name of the fluid, maybe seroma?). None the less if I get it back he'll just take it out again. I am glad to be in this level of good health and am ready to dance with NED until someone else gets him as a dance partner.
