I am going to NYC tomorrow morning and will finally get to see a thoracic surgeon. Picked up the last of the reports needed and also got my hands on my pathology slides.
Thank you for reaching out. I am blessed and just know that somehow, this is all going to work out.
*hugs*

Appointment went well
I saw a wonderful doctor at Sloan Kettering. Young and handsome. I had to keep the cougar in me at bay. LOL
So here's the scoop. He feels the nodules can be on a watch and wait pattern. He could not tell me that the nodules are not cancer. But he feels comfortable with this plan. The 2 new masses that were found on the last scan were of concern though. He doesn't know why these masses showed up 3 months after radiation treatments ended. So right now, I am scheduled for a scan 2 months from now and then I see him again. He says if there is no decrease in size or an increase in size, surgery will most likely be the next step. I am OK with this plan. I don't have all the answers, but I feel I made the right decision to seek out this second opinion.
This doctor had me go for a pulmonary test. Lots of breathing in and out with a mouthpiece and nose clip. Not my sexiest moment. He drew blood too and said I will have results in a week. I also have an appointment in a few weeks for a pulmonary specialist. I can't believe this is finally happening. It's been way too long a wait to get the gears in motion.
So ... I am one step closer to an answer. SOOOOOOOOOOOO Happy about that.
Again, thank you for your prayers and positive thoughts. Having support when one needs it the most is invaluable.
xoxo

So glad for you.
Thinking back about some of your other posts I am glad you got a second opinion. You have been disatisfied with your doctor's responses for some time if I remember correctly. I no longer have regualar accesss to the internet or I would have been praying for you big time already. None the less I will put you on my prayer list so that you can have a bit of peace of mind.0 -

The first time I drove, I always, always back my SUV into the garage...well I backed right into the garage door! Yes I remember to open it...lol..hit the side of the door...oops.....so now I have pretty white paint on my black SUV.... oh well $@&t happens....hubby said don't back in...oh okay, that's it! lol...so how about I just bring snacks...?
I am so hoping you can get all your questions answered...you've been through so much....please let us know when you do...you know how much we care and we worry about one another...
Big hugs,
Nancy

I was surprised to see a reply to an older post. But so glad to see your post.
I did switch oncologists. It's a long story but the choice was the right one. Now that I have the right team working with me, I am in a much better place. I added a thoracic surgeon from Sloan Kettering. I also decided to have a pulmonary specialist in place. Every step I've made has been the right one for me. Things are happening now.
My new MO wants to get to the bottom of this as much as me. Refreshing, isn't it? I have a CT scan on August 6th. I am a little jittery thinking about it, but am happy to be getting some kind of answer. No matter what the report says, I will have ANSWERS. It's so hard to deal with so much uncertainty for such a long time. The only way to actually deal with this is to have answers.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
thank you for your sentiments...it means a lot to me
