How do you know someone is dying?

My mom has been going through chemo for about a month now for the third time, for the last week she hasn't been able to keep anything down and has been un able to control her bowls. It even got to the point of not being able to control it at all today. My sisters think she's dying, any advice?

    Ask your Moms primary..sounds harsh, but then you can help her make sure she receives the kind of help she wants and needs. You know hospice is great...doesn't mean she won't make a come back...my Mother did several times. I wish your Mom the best..and your entire family. This is never easy...all good thooughts sent your way ! katie

    That is exactly what I did, I asked. I was told he is hopeful for many more years and doesn't think she is close at all.

    She was fighting an infection called CDiff, which was the reason for my post. My family is paranoid and nervous all of the time when things aren't going right.

    Is very scary and very contagious. Be very careful.

    I am very glad you talked to the doctor!
