Alright Tuffy!!!
first week is a goner...you're working to your halfway mark....
Sounds like you're holding up pretty good...you're where I was in the first week, tastebuds weaker, and a little less spit....but still good to go on eating real food. If I remember right, I was still eating salsa (mild) on my eggs at the end of week three...you may just be followin my trail on this road trip.
Now it's just plugging away one day at a time...so you go girl!!

Good deal. I just had my 7th treatment today. Noticing a little tightness in the left side of my neck and a little bit of a scratchy throat. Nothing bad yet. Hoping to make it at least another week without anything major. One can always hope, right?0 -

Good for you!! When I felt the tightness in my neck, I was hoping that maybe I'd get a free neck lift as part of my side-effects...pipedream???...LOL.
Just keep plugging away, chipping those days down, and they will finally come to an end...everything seemed so gradual to me, but then I remember there were a couple times the changes happened in a two day period...I'd be like...what??!!

Hi tuffenuff,
One week down, a big one week down. All the surprises are now history. Stay prepared, rest a lot and keep on drinking (swallowing). Are you listening to music?
Wishing you an uneventful week,
Matt
The rad doc today said my already dry mouth is probably due to anxiety (I had mentioned to her that my mouth gets as dry as the sahara when i get nervous) and the taste changes are most likely from chemo this early in the game. not that it matters lol.
Music is a constant in my life. Always listening, although not during rads because I fall asleep. I fell asleep today before they even started and when the table adjusted it scared the heck out of me! I caught myself thinking today that my mask is like a comforting little hug around my head. I may really be twisted...

Hmmmm, LOL....
It seems that I mentioned that to you on your post thinking your first rad was effecting your taste last week...
"Didn't you also just have chemo....
If so, more than likely that's where your lack of taste is coming from at the moment.
Before rads, when I had the three week cycles of chemo. I would lose my taste for a week or so. Then the week before doing it again, I would have my taste back."

Not really, there are several on here that give good advice...
We (everyone here), compliment each other in one way or another.... We all share a bound similar to my Marine background. Unless you've actually went through it either physically or as a care giver, you just wouldn't understand.
I definitely don't have all of the answers, but usually between the many here, and a few of the old timers here, we can touch upon most things.
Best,
John0
