I made my goal
Today I am exhausted and seem to be having a little more pain than usual but it may be my imagination, at any rate I made my goal. She starts to colleage in Sept. Who knows, maybe I will be able to go with her when she moves on campus. She said yesterday she would like that. We will see. Just wantd to let my friends here know that I did make the goal and to let you all know that I am still here and puttering along. Hospice continues to manage my pain meds well and have been a great support to me and my caregivers.I can't post much anymore but know that I think of each of you everyday. Some days I have volunteer hospce person with me and they read your post to me to keep me in the loop. Praying for all of us, Sam Stage IV now with hospice.

Have been reading your posts.
Hi! I have been reading your posts, Sam. You are an inspiration. How precious each moment is for us. Maybe our lives are best measured not by years and birthdays but rather by events. Or better yet by the blessings we give to each other each day. May your time here be measured by the help and hope you have given others. Praying for you.0 -

Hello Sam and Congratulations
Dear Sam,
Well done you!!!!!
The people in our family, will know better than anyone, what a special gift you have.
Some people in this world make a huge difference to the spirit of others who are suffering, and you are one such person. You inspire us all to keep going and give us all hope and a positive attitude.
Your young lady must feel very special to count you amongst her friends. Good luck for September.
God bless you and keep you Sam. We are all here for you and we are all praying for you.
Love and hugs,

Wonderful!
Sam,
So glad you could share that moment with that young lady. And I pray and hope you can watch her go off to college. I lost my Grandmother who raised me to lung cancer at the beginning of my senior year in high school. I felt robbed and so did she. We had worked so hard to get to that moment. She had lung cancer when I was 7, fought through that, and it recurred when I was 15 as stage 4. Her goal was to see me graduate, and she fought a long 2.5 years, but it wasn't meant to be. We had many great years together, but it is still a raw nerve for me. I am starting to cry as I write this. I know that when that young lady looks back on her life she will be so greatfull that you were there to share in her moment. Cancer steals so many good people from us, I am glad to hear that you aren't letting cancer steal important moments from you and your loved ones. Sam I have said it before, and I will say it again, you are an inspiration.
Hugs and prayers for you,

Well Done, Sam!
I'm so glad that you made it to the Graduation ceremony. On wheels or on foot, your student had to be proud that you were there with her for "her moment". What a blessing for you both!
I'm with the others - you keep the next goal of moving her to college in mind.
So happy for you!

Great job
Hiting those goals are the key. Im sure your mentee was thrilled. My goal is to get my youngest through college one more year to go,see my middle daughter married sometime in the next year or so and see my oldest daughters first child mabe in the next year or so. We shall see I live each day as it comes.Off chemo still things are fairly stable still able to eat most things and can still walk the dog to the beach and mostly can still work.Keeping myfingers crossed and have lots of friend with prayer behind me.Maybe Ill defie the odds its been 16 months since I was dianosed with stage 4 and told 9-12 months.Ive since realize that was not very accurate nobody knows how each individual will progress in their disease.Enjoy the summer. Hopefully youll get to college in the fall. That was always one of my favorite things taking each child to college and getting them all settled and sharing in all the energy and future excitement and just the buzz of young people so full of life and expectations that anything is possible. meg0
