of all the others not associated with ACS.

Like you guys,
I have been truly amazed in the numbers of new stage iv on our board in the last few weeks. I absolutely hate the thought that so many more of us are fighting this fight because as of now, we are not the victors, the beast is!

Sometimes that is so hard for me to get my little mind around that with all the funding and research, we cant find anything that will beat this little bast#$d!

I tried to believe what everyone was always telling me, that it is only in your skin and bones, but it still spread to my liver and connective tissues while getting the best chemo they have to fight this. Now when I hear someone say that it is only in the bones, I want to scream only???? Do they know how painful it can be even though it is only in the bones? Sorry had to get that rant out.:))

My brother will be having a BMT soon, he is fighting both cll and small cell lymphoma, I have metastatic breast diagnosed at 52 and given 3 - 6 months because of the aggressiveness, even though I am now starting 22 months, another brother died from bladder cancer at 53, my son has ET (a blood disorder that will turn into acute leukemia, was diagnosed at 24 but he is refusing a BMT now), 1 nephew (8 at diagnosis) with liver cancer, and another with non hodgkin's lymphoma (at 14). Both made it through those cancers but are told, because of all the radiation and chemo, they will most likely end up with some form of leukemia or a cancer to another organ. Something is just not right!

All but 1 of my dad's 8 siblings died of cancer, and his father had leukemia when he died. My moms side, we just lost her 5th brother to cancer and with her that is 6 to the big C, there are 5 sisters left and 1 of those has had 3 recurrences of colon cancer.

But Kat really gets to me the most. Such a beautiful energetic young woman going through more in a year and a half than anyone would ever think they would have to endure in a lifetime?? And she still appears on this board with grace way beyond that of a 21 year old. I am sure, and certainly hope that she is able to vent and get some of the anger that I feel for her out when she is with her family.

Sometimes I just don't get it!!
