Dear Helen
So sorry to hear that you are having such difficult physical issues, but glad there was an opening at Sloan for you tomorrow.
I suggest you take an over night bag with you. Given your seeming rundown condition (sleeping a lot and bleading a lot) they may want you to stay over night.
Praying that the docs at Sloan give you their best news and treatment.
Safe travels.
Hugs,

So glad you got in before the 18th and day before surgery. Now you have time to figure things out and go the best way.
Good luck with appt. and let us know.

Helen - I'm so sorry you're having such a rough go of it, but so thankful you are going to Sloan tomorrow. I hope you get a good night's rest. I'll be thinking of you and praying for the best.

I was able to get an appointment at N. Western due to a cancellation. Had to drive my path reports down the Friday before a following Mon. appointment. I think it was meant to be and for you too.
We are all cheering for you and it is best you get earlier care/treatment with your recent changes/condition.
Prayers and positive thoughts for you!
So sorry you are going through this.

Good idea! I can't imagine that a growth can bleed that much but someone on here said that it's a heavily circulated area so it's a possibility. At this point I'm going with it's going to be what it's going to be, no point in guessing. I'm just hanging on for the ride.0 -

Thanks, I thought the same thing, this is what is meant to be. I feel so much more confident going in there tomorrow that it even answers my local or MSK choice. As long as I like the atmosphere, I'll stick with MSK. It was even a sign that my job added them to my plan just this past January. Last year people had to pay 50% to go there. Life is telling me, hello, path, in front of you, take it!0 -

I know Sandy, what is the chance? I got so excited when they called. It's the first appointment of the day too so I don't even have to use a vacation day. The timing is working out again. And by the way, Jessie, the guy from my job, surgery the 19th! I thought that day was some sort of good luck for all of us. Good things come in 3s=)0 -

Good
Glad that you are getting in this soon as it seems you are having a more difficult time with that bleeding and you could become anemic from it. Hoping that you find out your answers today and they have a great plan for your healing. You are in my prayers and please keep us informed as to what is going on. This might just be the sign you were looking for as to where to go for treatment.

Actually I thought about that last night. Probably why I slept three days away. Really have to get a grip on the nutrition aspect as I've changed my diet to very low sugar (I am a sugarholic so it's giving up an addiction of sorts) and drinking habits (I'm doing water with just a splash of juice), giving up alcohol was easy because I don't drink. lol The bleeding doesn't help. It's pretty heavy all the time so I'm going to have to have my iron levels checked. Thanks for the prayers. Definitely the sign I was looking for. Decision is made. Chemo is not what I wanted to hear from Sloan but you can't change what is. Ready for the next phase of healing.0 -

Thanks. I didn't like the "factory feeling" but the goal is to get well, not worry that I'm a number. In the smaller hospital I was given lots of time to talk but if the Sloan doc is right and the course of treatment is just wrong, then I'll get in line at the factory and get this done right! They even assigned me a patient number that I should use when I fill out forms, I thought that was funny. I told the guy, that's okay I'll just be Helen Smith, you know along with the 10,000 other Helen Smith's. Glad he got the joke.0
