One year with Stage IV EC and other updates

My husband, Larry, was diagnosed with Stage IV EC last June. Details of treatments are in the About Me section. He had a CT scan Friday and the report we got yesterday afternoon was great! "Dramatically improved" He'll have a PET scan in Sept and a chemo break til at least then. He had an unplanned chemo break during Jan-Mar when he had to have a completely out of the blue quadruple bypass surgery in Jan and pneumonia in March. So, he is excited about a break with, hopefully, no problems.

I'm done with chemo for BC!!! I finished my last of 16 sessions this afternoon and got a balloon, shirt, certificate, and song from some of the staff! I see a neurologist tomorrow about the neuropathy. Thursday, I see the radiation oncologist and find out about the radiation plan and then go get IV fluids to help with side effects and feeling better. In between, I plan on resting and getting ready for the trip. Surgery is scheduled for June 28 and radiation (6 weeks of 5 days a week) will follow healing from surgery.

If all goes well between now and Friday, we leave then (June 8, our 49th !!!!!! wedding anniversary) to go to WA and meet the 3 month old twins!!! -- and, of course, visit with everyone else. Can't wait to hold those babies!! (Lots of !!! today ) Twins are doing great!! If you remember our story, one was a heart baby and had to have open heart surgery at 1 month. She is fine and caught up with her sister now. So many blessings and prayers answered!!

We continue trying to live as normal a life as possible and keep making very short term and longer term goals. After this trip to our son's family, we have a vacation scheduled for the first part of Sept.

We are so grateful and thankful. Thank you all so much for your prayers. We really believe that has played a big part in getting us to this point. And, please, keep them coming.

Great to hear that treatment is going well for both of you
    Angie,

It is wonderful news that treatment is going well for both of you. You and Larry are in my prayers daily and I think about the two of you often. What a challenge it must be to have both of you in treatment at the same time. I am always impressed by the positive outlook you have in spite of the bumps in the road that you both have had over the last year. Congratulations on your 49th wedding anniversary!!! Thanks for the update.

    Thanks Paul and Donna for
Thanks Paul and Donna for your kind comments and prayers. We made the trip to WA and are having a great time with our son, DIL, and 5 granddaughters! I've posted some pictures of Larry and me with the twins and of their whole family under Expressions on the About Me page, if you'd like to see them.

I'm so glad to hear things
I'm so glad to hear things are going well. Like Larry, I'm an IVB, on chemo. It sounds like it's working for him. Prayer is a big part of this I believe.
