New Puppy Picture and Checking In
Hope this comes thru of Chargee! He's quite a cutie isn't he? Certainly is keeping me busy and he and Sammy are now bff's!
Will now be home for quite a while I suspect. Unemployment has run out and I am now going thru the process of possibly becoming a 911 operator. I applied on Jan. 20 and have the interview Thurs. at 1:45. Do not think I want to teach again, but must do something between now and Aug. 2013 and this was one of the county jobs I applied on. Went to observe last Thurs. and certainly was interesting.
Have had a few of those "moments" lately as this time of year is kinda tough with our anniversary this month; birthday next month and then of course in August it will be two years which I can't believe. I honestly think I miss Charlie more as time goes on. He would have thought Chargee is something else! But I do tend to stay busy and enjoy what I do. Believe it or not I truly am quite a homebody and do enjoy being at home with my "boys".
My nephew continues to do well and they are working with him now to get him started walking in the near future. It's still a long process but still quite a miracle how far he's come.
Will probably be checking in a little more often now that I'm "grounded". I really don't know what I'd do without y'all. I know a few have signed off lately and I understand that may be what they need to do. But for me personally, this will always be a source of support. I enjoy seeing what's going on, good or bad and hope I can offer words of encouragement where needed and a little levity where needed. Well must be off and make a salad for a luncheon at church tomorrow. Till then! God Bless!

Jan, I will be praying on Thursday that you wow them.

Some of us sign off only to come back because it is so hard to leave family behind. I enjoy what I am now doing and it has taking a lot of my time but now and then I find a way to come back and listen in on others and maybe give a little advice if possible, if not always a little prayer. I like the new picture of Chargee what are we without our best friend. My Pitt what sick for a while but she is doing a lot better now.
God bless and keep you, hope you get the job you are looking for.

Hondo, sounds like both you and Harley are doing better. Are you still in the hospital ? I am praying that you are home and if not yet, that you will be very soon.0 -
HE IS DARLING!!
I love Shelties....oh hell, I might as well admit it...I love all dogs...but a puppy Sheltie is right up there in the cutest of puppies
One of the system dispatchers I work with came to visit me yesterday, she had a big bag with her...and in it was a quilt she made just for me. I've always drooled over her quits as she is very talented and artistic...but never in my life thought I have one made just for me...the 8 inch border is all dogs, all breeds...my GSD is on it, my sister's Pug is on it....and my little Westie who I lost 4 years ago. The middle of it has dog bones, and dog paw prints....it's SO cute (and so warm!!)...I was so touched I balled like a baby.
Glad you're going be hanging around here for a while....you're like a ray of sunshine!!

Glad you stopped in. Us newbies like to hear from people of all experiences.
Whispered a prayer you get that job .....and that you will be comforted from your loss of Charlie.
Thanks for sticking around too. It does mean a lot and it does help.

really, we need a "LIKE" button on here don't you think ?
love the quilt story, P51...heck, it made me cry.
And Tim, you are truly one of the sweetest people I have ever "cybermet".
don't ever change.
And just try keeping up with Jan....I know she makes me tired just reading about all her adventures. I can't imagine you sitting home doing nothing.0 -
Chargee is a cutie indeed!
Chargee is a cutie indeed! I think that being a 911 operator would be interesting and challenging work, as well as satisfying knowing that you are helping people.
Anniversary dates are always the most painful times, especially during the first few years after a loss. In addition to us, I am glad to hear that you have family, and your church for support during these difficult times; it is important to share.
It is good to hear that your nephew is making progress toward walking; it sounds like he is very determined.
Keep coming back, because you are right that this is a great place to both give and receive support and encouragement. Take care.

Puppy picture
Hi Jan !
I'm new here...don't know anything of your circumstances. (sorry if you want to tell me it's up to you) But I had to comment on the picture...we too have recently adopted a dog from a shelter near us. He is a MINPIN....and very rambuncous. I have ACC, 6months into, and we recently lost my cat Tubby. We live in a rural area and have always had pets. After 20+ yrs., of it I wasn't sure I had the endurance for another pet. But now that he is with us, we definately made the right choice. He is such a joy, and has given us such love. I think it's wonderful you too have the same joy. I hope and pray everything works out for you, and please please stay in contact. Warmest regards, Katie0 -
