pain
I had a wide local excision of two lesions located in and outside of my vagina. Two days later my sutures failed and they could resuture. You have to stay down as much as possible. Use the squirt bottle. Don't wear panties until you are fully healed. It will take a couple of weeks until the pain is gone. Sorry you are hurting. It's a pain no woman should have to go thru. I had dilaudid in the hospital but used percocets at home. If the pain pills are not working, maybe you should change to a different pill.0 -
bartholen gland cancer wound healing
hi, I had radical vulvectomy last Nov , with reconstruction to my vulva area ( taken from leg muscle) I also have a colostomy bag. I won't go into the whole story here but just wanted to mention that I had a very good wound nurse who suggested Manuka honey dressing. Its available on the NHS ( Im in UK) It worked a treat and smelled nice too! In the hospital they suggested drying myself with a hairdryer after every wash but this nurse felt that the heat could destroy the new cells and therefore slow down healing.Getting lots of air to the area is good too but try the manuka honey if you can.It does take time but will heal eventually.Good luck!0 -
I haven't seen this untilToast said:Wondering how you are?
Hey Kaytie, how are you feeling? Having surgery in such a tender location = misery.
I haven't seen this until now. Healing took awhile and right after that I started chemo and radiation which ended in July. Physically I am healed. Emotionally, I'm not so sure. For the most part I feel like I am okay but have not been able to have a sex life since April and it is wearing on my husband and I. In addition to that, my overies did get some of the radiation and I haven't had a period since July so I am starting to come to the realization that it caused fertility issues. I'll go in for blood tests within the next few weeks.
I had my first check up back in September and the doctors had high hopes and even was able to get my port removed.0 -
