cisplatin working very well for me
Hi Kathy... I've been on cisplatin along with gemzar ever since I became allergic to carboplatin. That was about 17 months ago, so I've had lots of cisplatin. It has about the same side effects as carboplatin. It doesn't cause hair loss and I have experienced less "metal mouth" than carbo would cause me to have. Beware of constipation if you're like me and suffer from that. I'm right here if you have any concerns. Oh, I'll stay on cisplatin as long as it's keeping me stable.

I too had a bad reaction to carbo, so I'm hoping I can tolerate cisplatin. I take miralax before and after chemo for constipation and so far it's worked. thanks for your reply and god love you 17 months. Hope I have good luck as you have had. I do remember that metal mouth too. Kathy0 -

and I was a lot sicker than when I had carboplatin and taxol. I am not sure why. Of course I was getting more infusion of cis/tax so maybe that is why. I had hair loss both times so was it the taxol?

Just finished 6 rounds of taxol/cisplatin . Felt weak . Experienced nausea the last 3 rounds. Hard for me to stay hydrated though. Home health brought fluid to infusion center for me to use several days after chemo. I dripped it into my accessed port. Zofran was already mixed in with 1000 ml saline. This helped tremendously. My ca 125 started at 3200, now 31. Hope this helps.
Prayers,
