Thank you for keeping Doug in your thoughts. He's had a pretty rough week but we are hoping he's beginning to rebound. He's had severe bloody vomiting and has had to go in every other day for 2 liters of fluids over 4 hours. He hasn't been able to eat anything since last Friday but just this evening managed to eat 2 Tbls of baked beans and about 4 Tbls of peas. They are still in him as I'm typing this so hopefully they will stay there! He ended up with thrush and then discovered he was allergic to the Diflucan that they gave him for the thrush. He's been doing swish and spit with Nystatin since Wed and his mouth sores/fuzz seem to be better today. He said the other day (between vomiting sessions) that he really admires those of you who are doing the chemo and radiation; he doesn't think he would have survived doing that as his chemo treatment almost did him in by itself. He will start the weekly Erbitux when he starts his radiation but we're just going to plan on that protocol not being as debilitating as this Cisplatin and Taxotere has been. Needless to say, it has been crazy busy around the Ditto household this past week but I've gotten on a few times to try and keep up with everyone's journey. Doug has done a lot of sleeping but was up last evening and then again this afternoon for his trip to the clinic for his IV fluids.
Take care ladies and have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! Enjoy your much needed break from treatment - Tuesday will get here soon enough.

Wow this Cancer fight can be tough. "DA" I guess I stumbled out of the gate. Felt good 1st two days after chemo and then down hill. Just wanted to personally say thank you for the shout out, shows how you folks truly care. Hopefully we can modify things now so the next round will be less of an issue. I kept up with the post. So many have some down times this last week. I have had you all on my prayer list. Thank you0 -

you are all doing so well -- don't give up. Even the bad weeks will only be a bad memory and you will be able to get to the end of the line ...and eventually get off the bus. Stay focused on the finish line.... you can do it.
Don't worry about sleeping too much-your body needs that now. Keep up the fluids as much as possible. there is no such thing as "too much" fluids. Ditto, I hope you get to feeling better real soon. The rest of you, get some rest this weekend so you can battle on some more.0 -
Glad to hear from you!ditto1 said:Ditto1back on lline

Yes, this does seem to have been a rough week for several of us. Stay strong and stubborn, Ditto! We can get through this!0
