Your feeding tube come out?
He told me to carefully tug on it a little today to make sure he didn't nick the balloon with forceps while forcing it back in. Turns out he did nick it and the balloon deflated this morning on the new tube. This time I was able, after a couple tries, to get the tube back in and I taped it to my body. What a difference that made when I went to the hospital today. The doctor just pulled the old one out and put the new one in with no pain whatsoever.
If it ever happens to you, do your best to get it in. If you can't, get to an emergency room right away. The longer you wait, the more that hole closes and the more it will hurt!

Well damn!!
You had me on the edge my seat here....no no Nanette, I don't want that happening to me, I can fully imagine the pain after what I went thru to get the darn thing in the first place!!
Sticking it back in would have me rockin' in my boots, and shaking like a leaf....glad it turned out ok, George. Makes me hope that they put a tough ballon on mine!!!

Keep in mind, Phrannie, that there are several different types of tubes. I did not have the balloon variety, and there was no way in the world mine was coming out. Surgeon had a heckuva time getting it out the day it was removed, too. Go on my "expressions" page to see the type of tube I had- that big dome on the one end of the tube was what was in my stomach against my stomach wall. That dome measures some 15/16", while the tube going thru me to the outside was 3/8" (.937 going thru a .375 hole- doesn't easily happen). Did your surgeon say you have the balloon type of PEG?

mine is different on the outside, in that it has a little circular thing, instead of a T-bar thing....how it's held on the inside, I haven't a clue. When I was looking around the internet for a way to contain the tube, I saw my tube, but it was always on children (with the circular stopper on the outside)....so I've wondered if mine isn't pediatric???
