Hiccups?

in Head and Neck Cancer #1
I have been having several episodes of hiccups daily for the past few days. Is this a side effect of radiation? It seems so trivial but they really are pretty uncomfortable when your mouth hurts. Anybody got any good ideas on how to make them stop? I've just been practicing breathing techniques since I can't drink water quickly or eat a spoonful of sugar:)

    Are you taking an meds?
    Hiccups are sometimes a side-effect of medication. One of my anti-nausea meds gave me terrible hiccups. I ended up contacting the doctor, who prescribed a muscle relaxer that did the trick.

    hiccups
    I had hiccups starting the day after chemo, and it lasted a couple days. It was annoying the first time it happened, then the next chemo came, and sure enough I had hiccups the next day. And that bout was the worse! Doc gave me baclofen (I think) and they went away. Definitively talk to your doctor, they may be able to help! Hiccups are horrible, especially when they last for a long time. I couldn't be one of those people who lives with the hiccups forever. I shudder at the thought. I hope you find relief.

    Chemo...
    I had them the first few days of chemo also.... MD gave me something for them, can't remember the name though.

    Talk to your MD's they should be able to prescibe something...
